Here's the mod I'm actually working on right now. That's y I dont haf much time for my Project King Kong. Anyway, it's a brand new NZXT Guardian case. It arrived fresh from the postman n away we go to the modding. The internals r coming in through the mail as well. Planned rig is a 7300GT SLi rig with water cooling.

Let's start with how the case looks like now.

Sum of the stuff I've bought for the project so far from Uglyvamp's BBS5. Sum Laser LEDs, RAM heatspreaders, 120mm UV fan grill.

1st thing I did was to remove everything in preparation for modding the case.

Removing the top panel. Phew, that was hard work. I've never seen a top panel secured with so many rivets b4. It was almost like Fort Knox. Overkill in my opinion. Usually cases haf about 6 screws or rivets holding down the top panel. This case had more than 10!

I'm actually past this stage of modding Hypoglossal right now. Just haven't had the time to write up on it. Extra time I had was used to get King Kong up n running for my daily use. Also, I'm waiting for more of the parts to be delivered. Anyway, will write up on it once I haf a bit of spare time. Watch out for updates soonz.

erm, if he changes the front and side panels, what would then be the point of buying the case in the first place? It's probable that the customer bought this specifically for its, uh, looks... tongue.gif

Ya dude, the chassis is exactly the same as the cavvy/C5 except it has 2x80mm fans at the back. I'll be making the same 120mm intake mod as ure's on Hypoglossal so that the top mount radiator can haf more fresh air for better cooling.

Phew, it's been a really bz week. Finall got sum time to write up the updates. Here's what I did since the last update.

After taking off the top panel, masked it up n marked it out for cutting.

user posted image

Finished cutting.

user posted image

After that I dismantled everything in preparation for the paint job. Dismantling the side panel window, fan grill n screws.

user posted image

Now the difficult part. The face. OMG! This faceplate has got to b the most complicated thing I've worked with so far. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

user posted image

Look at all those parts from the face plate! Including the screws, LEDs, separate pieces n everything, the total number of pieces is sumthin like 50+ pcs. Can u imagine that? I've never seen or worked with a more complicated front panel.

Now it's time for the painting. Awaaaaaaaaaay we go to the paint booth.

user posted image

Finished painting with 5 coats of Metallic Black n 3 coats of Clear Coat on the side, top n front panels.

user posted image

It's very hard for the camera to focus on the panel now coz the autofocus cant seem to focus on the deep black finish. After trying a few different angles, this is the best shot I cud come up with to show the sparkling metallic flakes in the paint.

user posted image

The rest of the painted parts. U can c the ROM slot covers, the top piece of the front panel. C those really bright green pieces? It's really bright isn't it? That's coz it's painted in fluorescent green paint.

user posted image

Well, that's all folks. Now just waiting for the paint to dry. The hardware oso haven't arrived yet. Once the paint is dry, it's down to sanding n polishing. Then once all the hardware comes in, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha it's time to boogie!!!!!!!!!!
