QUOTE(Gekko @ Mar 18 2014, 10:56 AM) Hi Preve owners, I am also considering joining the club. I am also looking to upgrade mty ride to the Preve 1.6 Exec CVT (Non-CFE). Currently my ride is the Saga FL Manual Executive. My concerns are as follows: i'm driving a honda jazz ckd & my fren just bought an exec preve 2013 ancap.1. CVT noise - how bad is this or its bearable? 2. Engine Noise - compare with my Saga, I guess I can accept this.. 3. Power and pick-up - consulted with SA, recommended me to go for CFE but I do not have the budget. Is the pick-up really bad? I did not want to go for test drive as the one they have is a CFE and is not the model I am looking at. 4. FC - they say the normal CVT model drinks quite a fair bit but if go outstation is good - similar to my Saga FL? Do please give comment/your thoughts on the above. I am very keen to upgrade to the Preve. Thanks 1. ok for me. 2. ok also. 3. ok..cfe lagi ommpphh. 4. from instantaneous FC of preve, stop-n-go is acceptable, cruising 90km/h ok. ok. why i chose jazz? -my wife wanted a small car, -no preve ancap ver was available at that time, -suprima s ass ugly. i've test driven preve cfe twice, & my mom-in-law owns an exora cfe. QUOTE(hdbjhn2 @ Mar 25 2014, 06:45 PM) i have a question here,,,knw first tat i'm not anti proton,,i don't do butt dyno,ketuk2 for reliability or hoping sports performance on these cars.Priority of making car should always be like this as customer:safety(active<=passive))>reliability>efficiency>usability(market targeted)>performance...With that said,in my opinion neither perodua or proton have been producing really bad but good cars for the money n improved a lot(in detail, yes),,,i don't just do some barbarian styled evaluation. 1. i do not understand, why u didn't believe the official data from proton regarding gas emission? However, this proton preve seems to be overrated to me.Considering it's price, performance, safety. It is EXCELLENT(having everythin under 1 package is engineers challange). Well, crash test seems to be good.Engine is good. But there goes a story about engine efficiency. Many sites including proton Official site claims preve passes Euro Emission "5",WTF THIS IS TOTally unbelievab;e.Seriously i can't trust this men. Here's like ,,"why' :honda vs preve.,,,think carefully pls>>lol,,pls 1.car weighs 1300kg.(heavy)..made with help of some guy from bmw(refer wiki+car curves,it do smell like bmw. ,,then honda city 2014 about 1050kg. Both have cvt. Both have good cayalytic converter.(assume honda's better because they tweak their own while proton use something on par with some good aftermarket stuff) Both have cam profile(definitely vtec have better history n is on GM's top list,,it is a knwn winner). Engine itself for sure honda made it better(not supporting this pricy rich kids car,,but Honda is GOOD,,engine, efficiecy, chassis,,they would have some fancy stuffs like..mmm..let say better aluminium application on engines(for weight saving) Campro is dohc + honda is sohc(won't matter coz test of mpg is usually under 90kph,,,sohc still holds good power band) The result on paper,,,f*** this:official 1 claims around(non-cfe) 6.2l/100km other sites 7-8l/km well, for honda(i believe they r not influenced by their government to tokok tambah in order to make it a globall car instead being monitor strictly(not that strict,i knw, cars nw day have some quality issues)--but it's official and any other result claims -5.7l/100km(lighter body of honda/preve is heavy, that's fine but it's 1.5l engine pack more power n torque). Thus if u understand how engines combustion efficiency effect Euro emission rating/How much green gas produced...less fuel per 100/km mean=better rating.(other factors like performance of catalytic converter are usually negligible n in this case is safe to be said equal) How the hell does honda, which have better mpg does only have Euro emission of 2 while preve is '5"(more is better).Even ford's highly "fuel economy-focused" ford fiesta, some of them are only euro 3 n 4.But this not-so-fancy(it is good but...) engine +heavy body),achieves 5 n they even claim they have prepare it for future PLs forgive for long post n forgive me if i'm being rude,,,but that's normal, No war pls,,. i would not like some replies from peeps who replies without them knw wat they r talking about, shouting, cursing, the statistic guy(robots),n pretty much,,pls,,stay away. Other than that, the car sound perfect to me because it's proton, so proton cannot do? from my understanding, gas exhaust emission std described so that product of combustion will have certain % of gases below that of tabulated in the table. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_emis..._passenger_cars to get the engine to deliver those numbers, engine must be tuned (ok, i forgot what my proton of H&T div. told me earlier when CFE was introduced). also, when engine tuning is the limit (when u cannot get the optimum between the emission & power maybe) new architecture/design will be employed (read: new engine). CPS was up to Euro4 (?), while CFE is up to Euro5. 2. engine design differs with one maker to another maker. does it bother u to have DOHC & not SOHC or vice versa? i'll make it simple for u: if the engine works as it should, then it's ok. do u really know what is DOHC & SOHC? if u know, then mind telling me the function of those maybe in the future there'll be camless engine? this DOHC&SOHC conversation is more or less like TimingBelt&TimingChain argument. each has it own pros&cons. no point on debating these topics, as long as the engine works flawlessly, it's ok. 3. sorry for my reply (i have hard time to digest ur essay). |

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jun 30 2014, 11:04 AM) erm.. Soft lilac saw suddenly feel super nice and unique colour.. but in future looks like nth special and hardly to take care too.. If i were to buy a preve, i'll go for either red or gold.Silver yes really simple.. haha about white, really need take care on it.. LOL really no idea la.. personally much prefer on white and soft lilac la.. black, blue, red, brown not so liking on it by personally.. nvm, still got many time to consider whether white or soft lilac yet.. need to choose 1 colour that i really like d.. For me, these two colors matches the simple n mature exterior design of preve. The metallic finish enhances these colors as well. Also, i have perception that, in red, the gaps between door panels seems to be less annoying. As for lilac purple, it would be nice if it comes it darker shade. Darker shade should provide depth-strength look. WTH i'm mumbling about |
