Hi guys!

Is it normal for a Preve Executive's FC (fuel consumption) to go around 180-210km for RM50 ?

This 180-210km is noted right when it drops to 1 bar of fuel indication. (Right when the 2nd bar disappears)

Mainly City Drive, stop-go traffic.

if mainly city drive, plus stuck in heavy jam once a while, the millage is ok.
my cfe only can get around 400km per full tank, 70% city, 30% highway.

Thanks for the reply, hong. Preve's FC is slightly higher than other cars yeah?

May i know how much do you pump for full tank?

But CFE, I'm sure you sometimes will 'tekan' right? brows.gif

That day high rev my Preve CVT , for the first time I wind down my windows while high revving, and straight away smell something like burning smell. Shocked me

Anyone experience before? I worry it's clutch slip.. But so far few days already when I lift my foot off the brake, the clutch still engaging because car still will move forward without pressing throttle..

But I check some comments on Google they say may be the catalytic converter heating up?

Is it new car? My car has the burning smell too on first day. After a few days, the smell disappeared.

tnx for the reply bro .. its few months old already ..

Can trouble any Preve owner here try just drive in S mode with your air cond on awhile for say 3-5mins?
maybe some time just rev a bit higher... see if there's any weird smell coming from your aircond ?

I won't worry about it, some cars memang will have burnt smell when driven hard, because your exhaust is running very hot and there is fuel mixed in the exhaust due to rich air-fuel mixture during high RPM.

You're lucky if you can only smell it when you open the window, some cars can smell it even inside the car with all windows closed.

but exhaust i thought only exit through the back... so if moving forward it shouldnt enter the car to prevent fume poisoning??

yesterday and today i just tested again in S mode..
If aircond OFF , windows up, i rev however also no smell ..
If aircond ON, windows up, i rev higher than 3000rpm , after awhile can start smelling the burn smell already. If i stop revving, or change back to D and drive normal , the smell goes off in only few seconds ... so strange !

do i still need to be worried bro?

The smell is leaking from the seams at the extractor or catcon or whichever part of the exhaust in the engine that has seams, and enters the cabin through whatever tiny holes or seams in the firewall.

Again, if it only happens when hard revving, I won't worry much. If it happens all the time even during normal driving, then there is a problem.

How old is your car?

If you rev hard, it's normal to smell. Especially if the car is new.

But car is few months old already... Abit more than half a year old.. 12,000km+ mileage then only I started to smell this during Aircond on n higher rev... Thats why i think something may be not right.. Do u bros still think it's normal?
