S = lowers your gear ratio and keeps your RPM high. Useful when you need more torque which is present in the higher RPM range.

SAT = Stepped Auto Transmission. The CVT will simulate a 6-speed automatic, so instead of smooth CVT shifting you will feel the gearbox shifting from one gear to another, like a normal automatic gearbox.

guys. I'm trying to use a different break-in approach recommended by some pals.
But I need to change my engine oil and oil filter at about 40km mileage instead of the first 1000km recommended by the warranty booklet. So, will that void my warranty?

S mode is usually for climbing hills where you wanna keep the RPM high most of the time. Also can be use to descent steep hills as the engine braking is stronger in S mode.

SAT is rarely useful so most of the time just leave it alone. The only time I find it useful is when I wanna quickly  attain a higher RPM to overtake: switch on SAT and press harder on the throttle to induce a downshift, after overtaking switch it off.

the early oil change? well because i know there are metal dust and debris and even possibly scraps inside the engine oil after the first few runs of the new engine. I'd like to get them out of there earlier before the 1000km service. Simple as that. Gonna use normal mineral oil so wont really cost much, along with an oil filter.

yes as long as the oil filter is proton's, sc wont know u service outside, unless the mech take a sample of it & send it to lab for testing, then u screwed big time, lol, joking only

i also plan after service done by proton, drive few km to my regular workshop change the engine oil to my likings, except for the oil filter la, use back since its very new, memang gila bazir duit, haha, what to do, i trust in the oil i use till now
nothing, just that i prefer my own choice of engine oil that is better but proton wont acknowledged it and threatening me by voiding warranty for not using their genuine parts, haha
