It may be a lemon unit, considering majority of us here are happy when we received our cars smile.gif
*
Seems to be a lemon unit but most of us even as we are happy with our cars when received...

We also visit SC too soon to fix certain shits

Mine
- Helicopter Braking (Known Issue)
- Alignment Lari

Yup seems to be small issue but really Proton should still do a better job in this. To make it harder, COSE only allows warranty claim during weekday yet the waiting time is superb long even just for a usual service. Dealers SC not standardized enough and not willing to do claim.
To be honest, as much as we like the Preve.. Proton still have a lot of improvements to make.

at least they recommend you the X1R, I went to puchong YES car care, they never mentioned it to me and direct use it during my first service, when i pay the bill and post up in fb only know the X1R is not necessary for new car.

Complaint for brake helicopter sound but they not entertain me, just said my car still low mileage, let it hit until 2k first. Seriously won't go back again, will go PJ section 13 for 2nd service.

Anyway, are you guys recommend semi or full synthetic engine oil? any specific need to tell the SC If i want use full syn?
*
Exactly.. wondering why people recommended "YES CAR CARE" except you don't need to make appointment in advance. Other than that, nothing to shout about.

By the way, If my first service using semi oil, the next service should be after 3 months or 6 months? service sticker written next service is 5k, but i don't think I will drive until 5k within 3 months, need to confirm on this...
*
QUOTE(acronyx @ Mar 30 2014, 08:23 PM)
My SA told me for preve the service interval is 10k km. No more 5k km.
*
Proton has confirmed that service interval is minimum 10,000km (Semi/Fully EO)
Note why I mention the word "minimum".
You can service as frequent as you want - if you are rich.

But for severe usage, it's recommended 5,000km.
Same goes for CVT Fluid/Filter - Severe 40,000km, Normal 60,000km

For us, we prefer to stick to Fully Synt EO if for 10,000km.

I'm not a severe user, normally only drink during weekend, the next service is either 10k or 6 months right?  Since now I already use Semi (the YES car care didn't ask me whether semi or full as well, i know is my bad didn't told them in advanced I want full synt), do you think I will need to go for 2nd service after 3 months (10k = 6 months, 5k = 3 months)?

the 2nd service will ask to use Full.
*
You are allowed to use up to 10,000km (9,000km usage with current oil).. but if you can change it before that it's better cause it's only SEMI Oil.

I am actually thinking to use it for only 7,000km but it seems weird to mess up the scheduling/interval.

Guys, really cannot decide la whether to buy Preve or new City. Interested with Preve CFE, but I heard many people complain about the quality of Proton's car. Plus kinda worried about the fuel consumption because I will drive this car mostly in the city with heavy traffic.

I did visit Honda showroom to check out new City. Damn nice gotta tell u. But I think only worth to buy the full spec which is V spec but the price ia RM91k.

Basically i can save around RM20k if I buy Preve CFE compared to Honda City V. But afraid menyesal beli Preve if later rosak. Please advise.
*
If FC is your concern then get the City but if V spec costing 20k more.. well, it's just on you...

Preve has no major issue except minor issue is normal. City will be a first-batch car, usually I avoid first-batch car no matter is H, T or Proton.

those who have no major issues will not post on forum to say "hey, my car got no issues" that is why what we see & read on forums are people ranting about issues and trying to find a fix for it, if you have the time, do to other car thread and ask what issues they have, I can assure you there are complaints also
*
Well said.

My CFE currently doing 10-11km/l City mixed driving.. (Still breaking in the engine, 2k+ mileage only now)

The downside is this car should not be in the start-stop situation where it drinks fuel but then it's a C segment. So comparing with a B segment in term of Fuel Efficiency of course is a no-no...

Guys,

Need opinion. I got 6.5k discount with no free gift for preve LE.good?
*
Quite good I will say...

Except it's an 2013 unit but the Leather Seat... R3 BK... and others are pretty tempting... Need not further $ spend to "facelift" the car...

Any suggestion where to get yuma made in malaysia and comes with 2 years warranty, what's the damage?

I am also looking for the boot tray which originally come with CFE model, but the new 2014 model, no such tray anymore, anybody have any info about this?

TQ
*
No boot tray since ANCAP.. but they replaced you with added air bags, EVP plus lowered price...

Boot Tray costs RM260 at Proton if not mistaken.

Thanks for the link  notworthy.gif

I'm not sure what kind of Iridium plugs the Preve is using, but suffice to say many Preve owners have installed it with positive feedback. I'd like to hear what they have to say as well.

Anyway, If you have read previous discussions on this product, you will see that it has been clarified by the Penang distributor that Firestorm does not generate extra heat in your ignition systems.

I'm not a seller, BTW, just a satisfied user  icon_rolleyes.gif

Preve CFE stock uses NGK Iridium ILKAR7G7 size

Preve Exec using same as all normal Campro... Bosch HGR7DQI, Denso IT20...

Still keen to know is there any other aftermarket plug for CFE.. it seems like only NGK produces it.. that's why it's overpriced.

Most Iridium we see @ the market will cost less than RM200..
CFE's being RM400 is just way overpriced... but if there's not enough numbers to justify for other makers to participate.. then we will forever need to live with it.

I sat in Preve CFE few times, so i roughly know the NVH level. But i want to know is the manual version NVh better or worse than CFE.
*
Haven't tried too

Preve Exec CVT will be noisier than CFE due to its CVT whining...

But Preve Manual is better than Exec CVT for sure and probably could be better than CFE as long as the soundproofing materials/level are same...

Would rather you go and change to other brand such as Pioneer/Kenwood..

Accessories shop should be able to tell u if they can integrate with it or not

does 5 year warranty applied to used car?
*
As long as the vehicle fulfills the terms & condition that Proton set.

Meaning previous owners had abide the policies in maintaining the car.. and the current owner should have all the documents to prove that.

But I suggest TS to go for New Preve with discount.... a lot of improvements already

Hmm if I get the used one and go to SC to solve those problem, will they solve for me since now they already have the solution for the problem
*
Yes Proton will solve for you as long as it fulfills their T&C...

However it's a hassle right? Even the gearbox in the pre Oct 2013 is different to the one we have now.... unless it's condemn then high chance for them to replace it with the new 1 which is same like now. It's really a big difference my friend.

Yea. but sadly the color choices still doesn't appeal to me at the moment. I saw one blue Preve about 2 weeks ago, compared the many many black, white and silver ones I encountered daily on the road.

Wondering if new colors will be offered in the next half of this year or near year or not.
*
I think facelift will be due next year April..
