hye all....Currently im planning to buy either vios E or city E.... But after make some study at other threads, found dat new Vios got knocking sound problem and its still unsolved...
2014 new honda city, its still early to say the cvt gearbox is problem-free, i refer to old gen city/jazz GD CVT prob....its really a nightmare...

I can see theres alot of minor problem, but mostly its a solved issue....So, im quite surprised with the number of preve owner here in this thread...

Im 70% over this preve, since with the same price tag i just can get the most basic car for toyota/honda badge....Plus those toyota/honda also got problem...

What made all of you chose this local car compare to honda/toyota? Is it becos the price tag? Or you a person who can accept all 'this and that' prob on local cars...Dont you mind about resale value?
*
You will definitely face problems after getting your Preve, but, what kind of problems? I would say mostly minor things like rattling from the dashboard, and the infamous metal noise from the back. Nonetheless, these are fixable at service centers smile.gif

What made me bought Preve over other C segment car? Features, safety, price, space biggrin.gif

Hi bro, I am consultant in Raytech Tinting. You can pm me or contact me directly at 0176483398 smile.gif
*
Have you ever done double layer tinting? I'm worried that if another layer is added, then the light percentage will be worse. Would like to avoid problems with JPJ and the traffic cops.

I am expecting my car for first service on monday .. now on 680km .. after 1k service, next is 10k right? Do you i need set appointment or just straight walk in at early morning?
*
Recommended to make appointment, get your car serviced early in the morning when the mechanics are still in fresh mood, plus you can have the rest of the day too.

Hi guys..do anyone experience the cooling fan not running after stopping the engine? Is this normal
*
That's normal, the fan will only spin after the engine stopped if necessary.

Just do a regular service, and avoid the magnetrap if they offer you (usually they will show you the list of services and the costs first before they proceed to service your car).

If I were you, I will get Syntium 5000 (5/30) for 10k millage, but if they don't have it then get the Syntium 800 for 5k millage.

All in all the service should cost you RM 150+- (without the magnecrap).

This issue has occurred before. Some of the dealers (distributors?) coated the engine and its bay components for god knows why reason. My neighbor for example, got his CFE (latest stock at that time) but without the coating, while others on the Internet posted about this problem.

haha ok..

what I want:
1. Spacious, stable car, safety car, fuel consumption average (running highway most of time)

what I don't want: bad handling (not stable), car noise (i hate noise. i'm driving proton iswara, noise consider average), other gf myvi also average.. acceptable.. i don't like wind or engine roaring sound.. really need to test drive and see.. but mostly need to go up to highway around 100-120km/h only can know what i want.. coz I'm running highway daily..
*
CFE engine doesn't make that much noise, but the noise comes from the CVT laugh.gif

Today i told my colleague that I had tested drive proton preve last saturday and fell very nice and want buy.. After this, all bang me that proton useless d, cant lasts long.. All ask me go see Toyota and honda.. But then i tell them if pocket blank, then why force yourself to buy those car just for fame..

At least can feel proton preve quality better than previous model a lot.. Hmm, I would say why people hate it due to previous perception.. And also ppl hate it was protected.. Like now ppl will say Nokia, sony all noob.. Must use samsung and apple.. Just they are lack of updated knowledge.. Survey ourselves and get our own prefer choices.. No need care other people say d. No need argue or debate d.. Coz they not understand.. I'm not preve owner yet.. But highly possible will become owner in coming.
*
As an owner, I'm not gonna hide it from you, you will have to visit the SC one or two times to solve minor issues (mostly rattles or unknown sounds), which none of them is in any way affecting the performance or safety.

Since you will be driving on highway a lot, I believe this is the best car for you given your needs and budget. FC will not be that good before your 1k service, but everything will be better in time.

About Proton being protected, I think it's a common sense, every nation will go to a great length to protect their local companies, US bailed out GE and protective of Apple, Japan saved Sony, and the list goes on despite criticisms coming from their own people. Whether it's right or wrong, it's subjective and dependent on your perspectives.

However, this is not a thread to discuss the issue.

Hi guys

Just got my car today, Quite surprise that it can accelerate as fast as my inspira . Handling and cornering is on par on certain aspect and better in some compared to it

Is it advisable to keep the stock tyre and how much is the original navigation SD card cost? My car doesnt have one and the dealer offered me rm 200 for compensation
*
You mean you didn't test drive the car before purchasing it? If it went the wrong way it would have bitten you painfully man laugh.gif

Err the SD card is a generic one, you can find cards with much better quality at computer or phone shops.

Haven't driven with 17", but normal perception would suggest better handling.

nah, not my ride, i bought it for my dad

Preve was on my list back in 2012 but decided against it

Wheel is 16" bro, not 17

I thought the SD card need to be fitted with the software from proton?
*
I was commenting on whether you should keep the wheels or not, so the implication is you would want to change to bigger wheels.

No, it's just data, used to see my colleague copied the data inside into another memory card. I guess it works the same as Papago.
