With regards to hdbjhn2, your comment looks like I am reading a programming language rclxub.gif
Syn 5000 is RM250 a bottle...plus that with labor, draing plug, gasket etc... sad.gif
[WTA] one bottle 4L is enough for the engine or we need 5L? unsure.gif
*
Yeah like I said, I get the best EO available considering the engine is still new. Plus with the syn 5000, you roughly need to pay like RM 50 per month (for 6 months). And one bottle is enough biggrin.gif

i always ask for the remaining engine oil. never know when u gonna use it...hehehhe...

The problem is, Proton don't allow you to use your own EO anymore for cars under warranty, so unless you'll be taking it to use on other cars, then it's ok.

Hi guys... See the picture below. Does this means Caltex 95 and BHP 97 gives me more mileage with my current driving style? unsure.gif
[attachmentid=3905568]
*
I find BHP to suit the car best. More mileage, more responsive. I avoid Primax 95 at all cost, my car felt sluggish and contributed to lower mileage.

Got my CFE today, first full tank RM101.10. Already done 15km when taking the car. Tried the rain sensor (raining in Kesas) and Auto light, both work splendidly. But in Federal Hway slow moving jam, without touching the accelerator, the car moving jerkingly with tacometer move up and down, while aircond felt cold and less cold intermittently, it could be aircond not stable? Electrical Relay issue?

8pm went out for dinner with my new purchase, alas, no HEADLAMP! Oh oh! Proton oh Proton,  No light! Turning the left knob down to "Auto", no light, turn up 2 bars, no light, turn all the way to main light, ALSO no light! OMG! There's such light when tested it in show room. Try High Beam light, yes, there's high beam, the rest nothing. Fog lamp got as it is by pressing button control. No choice, but to drive out with High Beam light and just back from dinner. Anyway, it is "within" expectation lah...now flipping the thick manual....

I guess I have suffered from "Stockholm syndrome" where I readily accept lousy QC of Malaysian "Proud" car which I proudly choose it over Honda City and spend my hard earned money on.

Then called 1800 888 398, spoke to a good "QC" staff, helpful, share my unhappiness, guided me properly to the service facilities in CouE (Centre of un"Excellence"), can get service without appointment as it is related to safety issue (driving without head light is safety!!), will spend time there reading the thick manual, for "safety" purpose!

It may be a lemon unit, considering majority of us here are happy when we received our cars smile.gif

Of course, but I believe many people can see the improvements (and they shouldn't stop), as long as nothing major or critical (brake problems, lol), I think I can live with very minor rattling biggrin.gif

Is it really true Preve FC is that bad? Some people say for city driving, stuck in jem, Preve soft turbo will drink your fuel like crazy. The FC for Preve in city around 9-10km/litre. Is it true? If yes than its a heavy drinker la.

And based from what I read above, some guy just bought Preve over City and he said the light cannot be turned on the first night he brought home the car. Man that's really bad experience, thinking of u buying a new car with your hard earned money, and only finds out the car got major/minor issues even only after out from showroom.
*
It's not 'that bad', it's similar to other 2.0 cars in its segment. Take note that it's unfair to compare a C segment car to a B segment car. But if you are 90% city driver, then Preve (especially CFE) is not the car for you smile.gif

Err, one guy who had an unfortunate experience, against thousand others who didn't. I think this is like the unreasonable fear of taking MAS after the MH370 incidents laugh.gif What you can expect initially are some rattlings, although they all can be fixed at service center. Nothing major. That's why it is important to check everything before you sign the receive of car from your SA, not only for Proton but to any car you purchase, be it Toyota or Honda. Speaking of Toyota, Vios is more fuel savvy than a City, so if your priority is FC, then I believe Vios is more suitable.

What you can get with Preve is, the power, acceleration, handling, safety, space. Comfort and looks are subjective, so it's up to individual biggrin.gif

Hmm my left headlamp has burnt out, which reminds me of some posts in previous Preve threads before, that it is a problem.

So now I have an excuse to change the light bulb, do you guys think a voltage stabilizer would help in the future? And the size for the light bulb is H7, right?

I not sure voltage Stabilizer would help or not for this case, but in fact it improve the brightness..

and yea Size H7, i use philips Crystal Vision 4300K, not bad bro~
*
Yeah planning to change to that, still looking for the cheapest I can get. Currently on Mudah for RM 160 hmm.gif

Still need to dig information about voltage stabilizer if it indeed does help.

I haven't had the chance to look around Preve's headlight. Just a question, is it simillar to other cars where we only need to unplug the power cord and cover, and unclip the light bulb?

Had a look at the new MY14 Preve while searching for the Almera

Noticed that the CFE badging all gone.

Worse still, engine cover and air intake had a very shoddy paint job sweat.gif
*
Well, display units tend to be 'under fitted' and subject to abuse biggrin.gif The badging is still there when customers receive their cars, like my neighbor smile.gif

Almera ftw flex.gif

Not sure what you mean by shoddy paint job, and even if it is, how bad.

Almera has better FC, sure, but honestly, it can't even compete with other cars in its segment. Well, the price is justified.

The black color is stupidly glossy, and its painted after the car has been assembled. Got stupid amateur overspray and blobs everywhere!

To new owners (MY14 model), please check if your Preve has this issue.

This is bad, and I don't think it came out of the factory like this. Mine is fine, but I'll ask my neighbour if he would let me take pictures of his as his is the latest batch.

Is the SC at mutiara damansara able to update the ECU? I also need them to look into the rattling gearbox on top of normal service. Don't want to drive to Cheras if possible.

How is the market price for the stock rim?

I mean if we trade for new rims.

No idea, but I would keep the rims for rainy days actually.
