They put my case under investigation and will get back to me in 2 - 3 days time. They said according to the system, I applied for platinum. I said no way, their SA should have changed my application. I asked to retrieve my application form.

I only give my crossed photostat ic and form BE. Nothing else. Btw, i think u from penang too right? Just FYI, the branch that process my application was the pulau tikus branch opposite of church.

What I usually do is, ask them for a photocopy after signing the form, it is even better if you can ask them to photocopy together with their name card.

Wise is actually a great cashback card, and particularly on groceries when GST starts to take effect next year.

i've been persuading my parents to withhold their grocery spending till at least RM50 before heading out to buy. Too bad, they rush to tesco/giant whenever they see promo/discounted price on newspaper, and each time spends <RM50  doh.gif  their basis is due to the promotion is not frequent and they want to get the best deal ASAP. adoiiiiii  rclxub.gif

asked them to budget 3x-4x RM50 in a month, and again their typical shopping mindset cannot change their spending behavior  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Nowadays, it is really hard for me to shop grocery for less than RM50... RM50 is getting smaller and smaller shakehead.gif

You effective rate is ~3.90% after factored in the RM12 processing fee and the free 4 months interest free period. Still very good for ASB investor but definitely not for FD depositor.

Add on:
There is a catch though. In case HLB rejected your RM160 AF waiver, you can't terminate the card because Cash On Call can't be early settled. However, the 10% CB should be more than enough to pay off the AF.
*
I also got the call from HLB, offer RM18.5K for 3% p.a. with first 4 months interest free.

payment 1-4th month: RM1541.67
payment 5-12th month: RM1587.92

total payment = RM18870.04
total interest = ~RM370

upfront processing fee = RM12

early cancelling fees = RM25 + the interest of the first 4 months.

dump the whole amount into my flexi home loan tongue.gif

will you get a separate account for the cash on call?
*
no, they just draw cash from your credit card, and you pay the installment back to the card every month.

You missed out the conversion from flat rate to effective rate.
You are correct at 2.12% but this is still flat rate.
You need to convert the 2.12% flat rate to effective rate. Please try, you will get 3.89%

2 years ago I have an issue with HLB credit card, I said to myself, give them enough time to solve it, anyway it was just a problem of few ringgits, I want to see how they can drag it.

And the HLB CS really didnt disappoint me, dragged the issues for freaking 8 months, I called them every month for that issue. End up I gave up and sent an email to BNM to lodge a complaint, copied HLB.

Guess what, problem solved in the next 2 days.
