First year automatic, second year case by case.
If they waive the second year AF, they will directly do. If they don't, you can call but still can't get it.
That's why don't trust what they advertise and boast around with 10% cash back. Considering AF and GST, you are getting 8.25% in actual. And some categories(like dining or spending in overseas), the chances of not getting cash back are very very high.
Or you can try to make noise every month once you get your statement. For the first 9 months of getting this card, I've been sending 15-20 of complaints. But I got AF waived.
And to get AF waived, there's no absolute criteria, I every month spend rm1000 sharp also can get but some people spent rm2000 also can't get.

Yeah, that's why my oversea's groceries transaction get rm0 cash back.
After complaint to them they bring me round the garden.
You can always spend some time and send them a message.

heated price war with each has their own items for lower price.
i'm a heavy grocery shopper in which i won't visit less than twice a month to each of the places like tesco, aeon big, mydin, giant, hero, econsave...
and i have my reason to shop for different items in all the above places. lol...
so far, all the above are considered as grocery using hlb wise.

i select utility bill and petro... can i view at hlb on9 transaction? lazy to call to CS..

applied for gold wise, but approved for platinum instead. stupid bank. ask to reissue new gold card, give all kind of excuses, need to charge la.bla bla. it was their screw up to begin with. made a complaint to customer service, but turned out they have lousy/rude cs too.
Now no longer interested with HLB, as even simple instruction as "GIVE ME FREAKING GOLD CARD" they cant understand. Terminated it right away (yes, i know i could have used it for the first year as they waive tax n annual fee, but i just cant tolerate dumbness and rudeness).
now looking for alternatives, on top of my maybank2 cards. i can live without their rm100 cashback/months.
