hahaha why i didnt get it?
I will happy to burn for him...

Btw didnt somebody suggested PM limit?
Previously i saw like 1 member can send limit like 10-20 PMs/day

How about limit by postcounts?
I see those spam PMers have postcounts like 0-10....can only send 1 PMs/day?
How about limit them until like postcount 50-100 only can take off limit?

It is easy to acheive 50-100 post count.
What if those forumer that having sales over here which do not have any post count here but is famous for selling stuff? They would have plenty of PM to reply.

Good idea. I'll write a limiting clause. Before accepting a PM to be sent, it does this check:

If the # of distinct people that a user has sent PMs to ≥ (days since user's registration + 1) * 3, then reject.

For example, Badawixus- registers today. Today, Badawixus- can send as many PMs as he likes to badawi_rocks, nexus-, and wKkaY. If Badawixus- tries sending to a fourth person, it fails. He can send it tomorrow though, when his limit increases to 6 people.

This should allow for PM communication to a limited number of people, useful for most cases, but not useful enough to mass-spam.

They should take the time to contribute to the forum then, instead of solely making money out of it.

Well...in that case, The said person would be required to PM mods/staffs to get permissions (change PM status...
I believe this way would absolutely counter all those "registered today" and such spam PMs..

Hehehe....
Im not sure what u mean...too confuse to me..
Do u mean like 1 user limit 6 PMs (send out), and until the PMs are replied, he cant send anymore PMs ?

Oh u mean limit in terms of user receiving....Well thats abit bad to seller/buyers..
But then they can discuss thru the thread or other means i guess..

Action has been taken, thank you.

WaCKy-Angel: Don't try too hard to understand it - you can take my word that it's fair to most people. From my sample, 90% of the people send PMs to up to 3 different people in their first 24 hours of registration.

Some trivia: the largest spammer I found was that of some startup forum/trading site (fiteye.com.my - looks dead now wink.gif). One of its bots sent 1400 PMs on day 1, and there's still 4800 of those messages floating around.
