Guys,

i plan to buy the above car this year.

But i cannot decide which cc.

I stay in SUngai Petani and go back to kulim which is about 40km of kampung roads.

I do have to over take a car or 2 once in a while on a single lane.

My priority is comfort.

The road tax for 2.5 just scares me. Fuel consumption is not an issue for both cc.

Can any1 assist?

Better 2.0 but both FC very low. Better if you take a newer sentral 2004 or newer. 1.6 rm 90 road tax smile.gif or get saga for rm 40 or less

Besides comfort, this car sucks fuel. And the reliability is a suspect. I would go for a Camry if i were you. Else the The honda Accord.

I'd put my money on d 2.5 for better power-weight ratio. But like u said u'll be forking out quite a bit more for road tax.

However given that both VQ20 n VQ25 r V6s engines that though sweet n smooth, u hv to keep in mind tat maintenance n servicing cost will b higher than d usual straight-4s. N to make things worse, neither of them hv variable-valve timing mechanism to improve performance or engine efficiency in d already heavy chassis.

Wit tat, I'd personally suggest a 03-05 XV30 Camry or an early 03-04 CM4 7th-Gen Accord wit 5-spd auto. Other comfortable options if ur willing, a used n older-tech 2.2 Harrier or 1st-Gen Altis 1.8.

Hi.

I checked fuelly.com and the average of camry and accord over cefiro is around 3 miles per gallon or 1.275 km per liter. I don't quite see much difference.

But keep it coming.

I am still considering cefiro coz overall, i find it much better than camry's handling and such.

Am driving a 2.0 a32, I must say, the power is enough for acceleration, but make sure u really step on it..good enough for overtaking. My recent outstation trip to Johor- RM80, can get me 500km mileage, mostly highway. As fc is not a concern, I think a32 and camry xv20 should fit the bill. A32 is a comfortable car, and also V6 is smooth, but if compare with suspension, I think T still trump. In terms of spareparts - no problem for a32, I mean there are abundance!! Overall, a32 looks better to me, compare to Toyota xv20...

fc very low? u sure about that bro?

btw, ex-owner of cefiro a33 with vq25dd engine.
in malaysia, no cefiro a33 and earlier model come standard with with vq25 engine. those that I found are for sure, transplanted ok n. when it comes to transplant, history and knowledge of the previous owner play a major role in it.
if vq25de still ok coz the wiring same as local car but if vq25dd, u hav to replace basically the whole wiring system in your cefiro. true story.

my advice, get the stock standard car. dont get the modified wan.

Me ex and co-owner of Cefiro 2.0, A32. Have been using this car since 10 year ago,
have past to my wife to use it for the past 2 year. Currently owning an ACV40 Camry.

Agreed to said that the the power is enough for acceleration and overtaking. The engine is much
more smoothness due to V6 engine. For 2.5, the roadtax will be killing you. Others maintenance cost
is as cheap as proton, most of the spare part, can get it from chopped shop and it abundence.
Agreed too on comment that A32 have durable look as compare to XV20 which look bulky to me.

Another good point on A32, passenger do not feel the floating effect for long distance travelling, but
Camry do have such effect if you press hard and travel >110km on truck road.

Try to get one with low mileage like,<150k km with good condition, the major
part failure will be at 200-250k, but quite cheap for replacement part like gearbox,
air-cond condensor unit , alternator (in Klang Vally, i dun known it is easy accessible
in Sg Petani?)

Comment of sucking fuel,
Yes, on A33, but not A32 with stock car condition.
my cefiro alway can gave me full tank (55 litres) about 500km(mixed), for
100% highway cruising, u can get 600km. But due to this engine without
VVTI, as you drive >130km, the FC will not be good.

Go for 2.0, at least nothing altered and look for everything ori. They only sell 2.0 and 3.0 V6 here. The 2.5L engine is used taken from chopshop refitted on Cefiro replacing existing 2.0 or 3.0. Cefiro 2.0V6 in city driving, 52L of fuel only giving you 350km. Smooth driving without much traffic gets 400km. Higher than 450km only from highway 100%.

Not yet.

Very limited upnorth.

Still searching.

Alot of nice ones are in KL and Selangor (view at mudah only).

Trying to find time is very difficult.

My left knee cannot take the stress anymore of pressing the clutch.

Hope will get some time off during fasting month.
