is it because of G pad have no call function?

I sold off my lg pad 8.3 after getting this. The disadvantage of the pad 8.3 is its poorer display quality , poorer camera, poorer speakers n it cannot be used as a phone . The pad is basically a wifi tablet.
You cannot compare these 2 as both are in different category
I opt for this as I always like big display phone. Unlike some pocketability is great n never an issue for me. I can even fit in Nexus7 inside my deep side pockets
Both has no bugs ( significantly noticeable yet)

Mediapad X1 English manual download

http://consumer.huawei.com/en/tablets/supp...en.htm?id=20923

It shows the multiscreen option and what "Suspend" means LOL...."Suspend" is the rotary slide floating menu on the screen.

Have been using as the main phone for 2 weeks....... personally my user experience this phone is very snappy. Some function is faster than my m7 now sent for warranty on purple tint. Like logging to my wifi network is amazingly fast almost instantly. I don't know about the benchmark testing just pure user experience. You have to feel it in your experience in order to enjoy it.

Why are you letting it go?

Hi joytest, my fellow english teacher. I find it great as a phone but as a phone, it cannot compete with note3. yet as a tablet it fails miserably for me. maybe it's not hardware, could be software. I just can't get the display right. normal font or large or huge, fliplboard is just plain unbearable to use and if you flip down the menu, the fonts are incredibly small even though you have selected large, huge or extra huge in the system.

To summarise, as a tablet too small and let down by older software and as a phone, it good but there's too much competition out there. Anyway it was a fun week with this device - just sold it to will4848.

I am now rediscovering my tab3 7.0...

I use Google play newstand the equivalent of flip board...... the font size set at large.... All text are well readable. Only problem is I like dark background which Play Newstand does not have the function.

You have to compare it side by side to see. Difference is very , very great. The X1 looks much clearer n brighter with colors more contrast. If I rate X1 a 10 in display quality the XZU will barely score a 5

Same IPS and resolution never means output will be same.

I had personally try this model and the display is extremely gorgeous!

I agree on the screen.

On the processing power, I think samsung's device is always attending to some other side business, and then only us. This mediapad attends to me like nobody's business.

Edit: Does anybody know where to find cases like otterbox for this baby? looking through ebay but cannot find any.

Lol bro, I don't think you'll ever get Otterbox for this. Perhaps if this really took off in China, you could get some tough cases from there.

You might want to try lelong. They have Shake proof series case which I am using, quite good. But it does make your phone a little bigger. tongue.gif

Looks like the size of this device is unappealing to some despite all the others plus points.

That's unavoidable, just like some can't take anything more than 5".

My feeling is - as a phone, size up to 6 inches is supremely use-able; maybe even 6.4 inches. For a tablet, you really need 8 inches plus to 10 inches.

So these 7 inch devices are caught in the middle, but that's only for me. If it floats your boat, why not?

Yup inner is hard plastic. Quite solid. The only dislike is that there is one hole at the back of the casing which where the huawei logo is located. doh.gif I would prefer there is no hole.

Mmm....the shakeproof case looks nice, like the Spigen cases.

Maybe I'll get one.
