To current users: this phone needs what type of simcard - full or micro or nano ?
Specs show ext sdcard support to only 32gb?? Anyone tried with 64gb n is exfat format supported. My previous Ascend Mate can support 64gb but only in fat32 format
*
I am using Sandisc 64GB memory card. It work fine. Not sure if it is exfat format or fat32.

Honor X1 is meant for China market n it doesn't has google playstore n services. You need to root it n have these installed ...some online sellers sell this out from China as prerooted sets with playstore

Unless you have formatted it to fat32, 64gb default is exfat..you can check card format in some file explorer app under properties. Or check it in PC

There are ways to install google playstore and services without rooting for this phone. I have done that for two unit.

I have two phone running at 64GB sandisc. One phone, I have format the memory card in the phone. None of the file explorer can check the format. The other phone i just insert to the phone and use. Did not format it from my old phone which is Samsung mega.

Honor X1 - 7d-503l (LTE version exclusive for China Unicom)
Mediapad X1 - 7d-501l (international LTE version)

Honor X1 has a preinstalled Huawei app store which can download playstore apk BUT contacts and calender sync is NOT included (this is the method without root)

With root method, getting Playstore and other Google apps to work is NOT the problem. The only problem is cannot add a second Google account. I'm working around it by export Google contacts but it'll get messy with time.....

Even if after root, atm there is still no working English version CWM... I can only find 1 ROM for LTE version but it doesn't say multi language.. Default Huawei ROM available to public download only for Honor X1 atm, couldn't find international version ROM.. Hopefully Huawei Msia will release the international version ROM and it works for Honor X1 as well

it just only depends on whether huawei msia will release the firmware to public
if they do, then it's very easy for us existing users
i will give huawei both thumbs up and even toe up thumbup.gif smile.gif

New review after Google account workaround

The battery life is just fantastic. It's like the phone doesn't need to charge!!
I'm not a heavy user or gamer but i guess the results will be stunning as well even with gaming. Most of the time the phone is sitting idle on my table while I'm busy, but after optimizing and taking care of wakelock apps I suspect it should be even better

Reading on this baby just blows your mind away. So big yet so manageable
I've got flipboard as well and it rocks
Movies play perfectly as well. It's THE perfect entertainment machine

Size wise, it fits well into pockets (except for tight lady jeans). But holding it for a conversation is just… blush.gif
Using with single hand is not possible as well

I've managed to get all the Google apps to work and even removed some of it
Root is no problem at all. Done within minutes just with clicking
Rooting is recommended for installing the complete suite of Google stuff, installing Google stuff over Huawei appstore doesn't give u contacts and calendar sync

1 big problem is i cannot add another Google account to the phone
I find it troublesome as i can't use my work gmail as primary and personal gmail as secondary for the contacts
For now I've copied all contacts to the work account but hopefully this can be fixed in the future

Overall, the phone has its small software problems but not to the point of unusable
LTE works well as well icon_idea.gif
For me who is commuting weekly, bring it on
For those who prefer mobility, probably something like the size of iPhone 5s is suitable for u
I'm a happy guy for now

Those who has LTE unit X1, can you confirm whether the ROM is 16 or 32GB?

I don't play any games so of course u won't see it in the list smile.gif

OK so yesterday night I finally managed to use up all the battery. Final Screen On Time is slightly more than 10 hours flex.gif
Huawei has a pretty good power management app. It will tell which apps are consuming many power and has option to close it
