If you manage the skills and knowledge, diving is pretty safe.
Most diver dead on human error & equipment malfunction i guess.

QUOTE(AIAF @ Mar 31 2014, 07:24 PM) Hey guys, doing my OWD at Redang soon (enjoyed my confined water lessons a lot!). Got a few questions, hope you guys can help. 1) confined water is warm, but open water can be cold depend on weather and current. Usually wetsuit is best, but of course rashguard and suft pant will do the job too.1) If I get a rashguard and pair it with a swim trunk, that's good enough right? 2) Considering to get my own subscription mask cause sometimes my contact lens just refuses to cooperate especially in the mornings. Anything in particular to keep in mind when purchasing? 3) I have a couple of leisure dives after my exam. Planning to rent an underwater cam. What type of camera do they usually provide? Advisable for beginners to handle during diving? (I do play with some photography as a hobby) Thanks! 2) Mask quality is pretty important , you don't want leaking or uncomfortable during dive. go for the better one, should cost around RM4xx- 5xx 3) Camera you get from rental is quite normal one, simple DC. don't expect a good quality shoot. Personally not advise beginner to handle a camera underwater, you might lose control and damage the reef. Start shooting after you have 30 dives log. |

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Apr 14 2014, 03:49 PM) Very complete list of prices you have there, lol. Didn't know Fantasea is more expensive than Ikelite. Yes, so far I'm interested in Pulau We and Tulamben at BaliOther things to take into consideration when getting the housing is whether you intend to invest in strobes in the future or not. Which one did she get? Interesting buoyancy challenge! How many of those can you do? Alone? I think there is a forumer here that is based in KK. Welcome! Looking forward to exploring outside of Malaysian waters soon? Indonesia is a great place to start. Can see sugar wreck from surface?? wadafark. How's business lately? probably going one of them next year/ end of the year. |

Any underwater photographer here?
QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Apr 14 2014, 05:11 PM) Both also very nice place for diving. For Pulau Weh, make sure your trip is not during full moon or new moon, otherwise current can be quite strong from what I heard. You can also contact photopro to see if you can get good rates as he runs one of the dive centers there. Yaya, usually i don't plan dive during full/new moon. Have fun planning your dive trips! Thanks for the tip ! @photopro i can support ! haha |

QUOTE(Blesse @ Apr 28 2014, 02:57 PM) I just crop the pics and adjust the exposure. So far been only using it for few dives. Still learning to use the manual mode by trial and error. But for the pictures I posted, I use UW mode for wide angle and AV mode for macro. The first three pics was taken at the same site, depth was about 23m. The nudi was from one of the reef, about 9m. the barracuda one is nice ! I refer to this guide > Canon G16 UW Guide. Hope you can share more info with yours soon! looks very wide with nothing in front of the lense. I think im getting G16 le ~ I'm waiting fantasea promo. |

QUOTE(ukiya @ Apr 29 2014, 10:27 PM) Wow! if u spot any around tat price! ping me too... I might be interested to grab 1. Yes it cost time, you may want to pay few hundred extra if you need them urgent. But for RM1199 I'm personally feel that the price wont be tat cheap or the price will be like tat when G17 launch. And tats gonna wait ... Just pay attention to Siputscuba and Prestige scuba, they both have promo for fantasea housing. |

QUOTE(NightHeart @ May 7 2014, 08:09 PM) But kampung style home stay sounds more "no-so-popular" le >.< There is no staying on/nearby sipadan. But to go to Sipadan, usually have to stay in those water chalets nearby Sipadan? only Mabul island, sipadan water village located on mabul. no-so-popular homestay will make sure you won't draw attention for kidnapping. |
