2nd wud hafta b the Lian Li V Series since that's the closest I can get to a Voodoo.
3rd wud b the Silverstone TJ03. Lovely classic look. Built like a tank. This is the case that Talon PC use for the 1337 rigs that they sell.

Sexiest chassis ever ranking!, - Come and vote

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 18 2006, 07:47 PM) well, actually most people who bought the Apple G5 chassis didn't know that it comes with all the hardware inside (i.e. the G5 proc, hdd, mbo and stuf)so, you can technically say that the casing is on sale, and you get all the things inside free when yuo buy it. still, G5 for me. Even the LianLi v11000 has G5 resemblance (the honeycomb grille and the leg stand, not forgetting the color) |

I'm curious how you get around sanding a Wavemaster with 2000grit.
As for my choice... well I can't wrap my mind around anything in particular right now, but from what sniper posted: P180 - Looks sleek, but c'mon guys, black plastic is NOT sexy. V1000 - Looks good, but meh, I don't like the cheese grater surface. ATC - Well it's classic, but too standard. So my choices: TJ-07 PC-767 Maybe a NSK HTPC case. |

My preference is for the v1000b NOT because I own it but because:
1. Construction is excellent. High quality aluminum which does not creak, bend but consequently is rather heavy. The wheels are necessary as are the rubber lining the wheels or you'll have deep gouges on your desk. 2. Layout is very good for air cooling albeit with some slight modification. The stock configuration with a single intake fan which is directed at the harddrives and the lower compartment should be sufficient for most setups. However... if you're buying this case, you'd probably have some major hardware to keep cool... Addition of a second intake fan in the upper compartment is relatively easy and LianLi have this available as an optional accessory. 3. Cable management is the best I've seen in ANY case. The ability to route cables through the back of the case, behind the drives etc. etc means that you can hide all your cables without making much further modification. 4. Heat buildup within the case is nonexistant. The addition of a second intake fan and a configuration in which air passes horizontally through the case makes for very good thermal control. There you have it. My two sen. |
