QUOTE(fireballs @ Jan 5 2017, 11:37 AM) Where u stay? if nearby to my place, I can help you to locate it and replace it for you.I'll try to snap picture for you if got time. The location is at the back of the gearbox, nearby extractor. You need to open the airbox to see it |

QUOTE(kurty @ Jan 5 2017, 12:14 PM) my take is to avoid it. All cars are time bomb if not service and drive properly.I rather you take manual instead of AMT which is a time bomb. I drove savvy manual for 9 years, never fails before If you just follow the recommendation on the service book and do inspect your car (by yourself) monthly, then shouldn't have any issue. Just need to monitor the AMT fluid level and change it following the recommendation, then you'll be safe. |

QUOTE(fireballs @ Jan 5 2017, 03:03 PM) stay in usj. ya i opened up the airbox already. there are a few wires there near the extractors. just dunno which one. You are correct, this kind of sensor will never or very hard to spoil but unfortunately it will spoil on D4F engine (cannot compare with industrial magnetic sensor). Maybe they designed it like that or the magnetic field become poor already(meter reading on/off) because the magnet tip is very small (like lidi sate only). Could be spoiled because of oil leak as well. If the sensor not spoil, then either connector or your meter kaput.the sensor can be pulled out for cleaning? i dont believe its spoilt. driving halfway the error will come and go. i think its just bad connection. i sell industrial magnetic hall sensor and these are passive components. never will fail unless mechanically damaged. Speed sensor cannot be service. Once spoiled just throw it. Hahaha. BTW there is only one sensor stick in at the back of the gearbox. Can be pull out but not so easy if first time to do it (need to twistΒ² a lil bit) ***still go no chance to take photo for you. Hahaha*** |

QUOTE(kurty @ Jan 6 2017, 08:04 AM) I guess so, during the 9 years of ownership, I am proud to say this car had served me well. Yeah, for cars that have a lot of sensor, we need to do preventive maintenance (replace before it spoiled - not wait until it spoiled)I seen numerous friends who own AMT throwing the towel. Once spoiled, you cry la |

QUOTE(taxidoor @ Jan 14 2017, 05:20 PM) ok guy i have a 2005 M savvy If the gear can change while engine is off, try to crank engine while gear is engaged to gear one or two. Just one crank only. While driving, Suddenly car cannot go in any gear middle of the road. No any broken sound, dont have any sign of hard to enter Gear. But reverse gear normal la. Nearby workshop tow back to shop. After some checking, the mech told that was gear box problem. Not clutch or anything. The mech suggest to replace another unit gearbox. any suggestion? was qoute gearbox for 2.2k & not include workman ship. Not feeling to give up the car yet. Really is a good small car petrol saving car. |

Probably the gear stick adjuster misaligned. Ask the mechanic to adjust that one first. It is located at the bottom of the gearbox. Can adjust use wrench only. Need two person to adjust. One person play with the gear stick another one adjust the bolt under gearbox.

Today it is my time to pry open my speed sensor @fireballs πππ
In my case, no loosened part or rusty solder. It just that to many geabox oil inside the sensor made the tip stiff and not able to rotate freely. So i just cleanup all the oil and now it can rotate easily and has more freeplay. Save money. Thank you @fireballs for the idea to pry it open. Xie Xie π |
