Guys,

I bought a used Savvy manual and noticed that the clutch pedel is very hard to press..

My leg starts to pain every night. Could you please tell me what has to be changes and how much would it cost ..  icon_question.gif

I have my car back in my country where the clutch is very smooth and pain free drive.

Please advise. If I had to change something should I do in proton centre or anytihng local shop would be okay/

Thanks
VV

You might need to do somethings with the clutch cable...
Either lube it or adjust it or change it...

But I change the Luk clutch kit and it was very smooth

Thank you for the reply ? Should I do with proton or local is okay?
How much will be the cost approx..
*
You can try to lube and adjust first.
I always go to proton near by my house as they just charge a little bit on me.
You might try yourself first and go to a shop that can trust smile.gif

hi, i own a savvy 2005. the blue edition with white sport rim and it is manual. i got so many question regarding this cute car. so many and i almost forgot what to ask. hopefully i can ask from time to time. hopefully i can get some basic information from all guru here.

ok these are some of my questions:

3- this car never been to proton service centre, so i guest it never get the replacement treatment for rear bearings. can i get that if i send it now? will i be charge for that, and how much it will make my small pocket rabak?
4- i jack my car, and try to turn the wheel by hands. the right wheel is hard to turn. is it the brake pad? or bearings? how long a bearings can lasts? i am already has gone for 230k km. before this it was my mom's car. and now she let me using this cute car. and most of all the time, my younger brother using it without proper maintenance.

5- should i use syntium 800 10/30 or 800 10/40 or just the normal mineral engine oil like march 10/30?

thats all for now. any answers from you are highly appreciated from noob like me. and i am proud for having this car even it not so cun like those savvy outside there.
*
For number 3, you can check the record from Proton services center, I believe still free if you are entitle and haven't changed it.
For number 4, bearing cost around RM40-60 but installation cost same with its price or even higher, I changed one as it broke and until now (230K) haven't change again.
For number 5, you can opts for Lexus 5-40 fully sync engine oil as it cost RM100-105

Speedo meter work fine. Yesterday I drove from kl to shahalam without any problem then from shah alam to Putra jaya faced this issue.

Restarted the car then able to reach Putra jaya. Also no problem going back to KL.

any reasonable mechanic at KL area? Any one around wangsa maju ?
*
Speedo drop to 0, need to change speed sensor (Changed one 6 year ago, use until now)

TDC sensor will cause jerking and sometimes you step on gas, car no move (Changed one 4 year ago)

TDC sensor got 2 kind, I am using 2005 first batch MT Savvy, upgraded to 2009 version and no more issue (newer come with blue connector if no remember wrong)

Throttlebody changed one, due to malfunction.

Timing belt changed 3 times, water pump 1 time, currently clocked about 230K KM

coil changed at 130K KM, oxygen sensor changed at 100K KM, clutch kit changed at 120K KM.

So until now... no any major problem (only services twice at outside, all done at proton SC)

Fuel consumption ? RM40 weekly for 100% city drive 330KM with aircond almost off all the time. rclxms.gif

Still jerking and missing. Already changed the ignition coil, spark plugs, tdc sensor cleaning. now what else? Again the issue happens on long drive and after restarting the car it goes away.

Is it possible that my aircon wires are getting short, that could cause the missing problem?

oxygen sensor and TB check needed tongue.gif

Ignition coil old type, coin and cable one set, black colour RM 100, blue colour RM140.
Separate new type RM300 +-

Did the handling/ride deteriorate too much after >10years?

Actually my brother owned one. Last time i drove, handling is nice, ' harmonically'tuned to chasis n road.

What about replacement parts price? timing belt replacement cost how much? Air filter price? Oil filter price? Can i say they cost almost similar to local cars'?
*
First batch MT (2005) owner here:

Timing belt around RM330
Air Filter forgot as I changed to open pod one
Oil filter around RM 12

Handling greater than some p2 car tongue.gif
Other common issue can be solved below RM 200.
