Hi Savvy enthusiasts! John here. I'm new to this forum. Hope can learn from sifu-sifu here biggrin.gif
I own a 2007 Savvy AMT, silver color. It's been a journey, love the car despite AMT issues.

The car have been tersadai for 1 year plus because of AMT failure.

Just changed front tires and front lower arms, alignment, and camber yesterday. RM800+

Prior to that:
1) Air cond coil/evaporator
2) Robotic (recond)
3) Engine mounting
4) engine oil
RM2200

Now, on 1st gear and reverse gear, car will jerk few times from standstill before becoming stable. Subsequent gears are ok. So, procedure is, from stop, let it jerk all it wants first (without pressing the gas), then only accelerate.
My mechanic said let it run for couple of weeks and jerk may go off. Hmm...hopefully..

And yesterday, while changing tires, I noticed oil leak, noticed AMT oil leak.
Mechanic suggested tuka seal kit for clutch cylinder and service motor pump.
All in RM1000

Hope you can share your thoughts on my situation and the pricing as well.
Thank you guys!

John

Hi Savvy bros,

I'd replaced robotic for my Savvy AMT. All is good except for one thing.
It jerks when I accelerate from standstill, only on 1st gear. Reverse is fine. 1st to 2nd and subsequent are also smooth, flawlessly smooth indeed. A big contrast.

After robotic replacement, I'd also changed all spark plugs + brand new ignition coil cable (old one was bitten by rats cuz was tersadai for some time).

My pomen said could be the fuel pump.
Need more opinion before I change the fuel pump cuz it's not cheap.
What could be the issue?

Thanks in advance for your precious advice.
Cheers!

John

How much repainting costs?
*
Hi Akib, cost me RM2000+ to refurbish the body. Ketuk, touch-up cracked front and back bumper, paint job, headlight cover polish.

Very nice! How old is your Savvy?

I planned to restore mine but after thinking about it, maybe I should just save up for downpayment for a new car in the future.

Hi FlamingFox,

thanks. It's 9 years old.
U should do it man. Not sure about you but to me, nothing beats this little gem giving me pure driving joy.
This car is way underrated thanks to the lousy after sales by proton.
Maybe u should buy a new car and restore it later if u have the extra $$ to spare? Use it as a 2nd car.

Underrated car it is. I'm happy with my car except for the jerkiness and unsmooth gear changes. Also, the clutch often fails. Aside from those, it's a fine car. Wait til I finish my 9 year loan instalment, then I'll think whether to restore or sell. Not much value already anyway.

It seems like yr savvy really needs to do a thorough "body check" and restoration.
Yea, true, the value is sh*t. No point selling. I'm finishing my loan this November! rclxm9.gif
Btw, just brought the car out for a drive today and still enjoying every corner biggrin.gif
