just changed to 4 new eco tyres, Hankook Kinergy EX 165/60R14 @ RM135/pc.
previously on Kumho Solus KH17 that lasted 33,000 km, still with 10% thread left before touching TWI. first set of GY NCT 5 was worst that lasted only 28,000km down to TWI with cracks on sidewalls. never gonna buy this tyre again. |

QUOTE(pizzaboyj @ May 5 2014, 07:08 PM) Hup Shun Sunway. RM135 X 4 = RM540 all in (balancing, valves, alignment). Read some bad reviews on this shop previously but still decided to give it a try as their price is cheapest. Didnt expect much but turned up i'm pleasantly satisfied with their services with little extra effort like polishing d new tyres n lubing the wheel bolts. QUOTE(Matrix @ May 6 2014, 11:01 AM) I am looking for tyres soon. Where did you bought yours? This 165/60R14 seems like very few choices. Yea, this size really not much choices. i manage to find out a few besides the Hankook Kinergy EX i just bought.Nexen CP621 @ RM150 - Hup Shun Sunway Hankook K424 @ RM140 - Hup Shun Sunway Yokohama BluEarth AE01 @ RM168 - Hup Seng Puchong Utama Kumho Solus KH 17 - i bought this at RM165 and that was 2 n half years back! Goodyear NCT 5 - i will avoid this. mahal and wear up very fast! This post has been edited by hcgui: May 6 2014, 03:45 PM |

QUOTE(JmQFmM8879 @ Oct 2 2014, 09:28 AM) Good morning Savvy lovers, Congrates and welcome to the Savvy club!My hubby and I just bought a used 2005 Savvy MT from a car dealer in Puchong. Tell you the truth no nothing about car engine. We're int'l students and needed an affordable compact car. The savvy looks fine, feels fine, and now we are proud owner of it.. Anyway, we want to check the engine again, coz yesterday, I parked parallel, and changed the gear between first and reverse quite often (new car, don't want to bump and ruin the "fresh" feeling Sorry for the long post, u all can see that we truly are newbie about car. So anyway, Is it the water coolant? Gonna check it later since we haven't used it since last night. And where to go to check it? Trusted and recommended mechanic for savvy from u guys. We stay around Gombak, we're students, I kinda understand Malay a bit so language will not be a problem. Just don't want to go to some mechanic shops and they will rip us coz we sooo green about this things (and again we're students, so budget kinda tight). Thank you in advance.. and sorry again for the long post yaa.. Oh one more thing, how to change the clock time? Thanksss... The sound u heard while engine is off is from the radiator fan which is still running to cool d engine down. it's NORMAL but should not happen too frequently. i guess it's becos u took too long to park that's why the temperature went up quite a bit. The burned smell- not entirely sure but do check ur temperature. if it goes beyond the normal 3 bars, some checking and/or repairing needs to be done. QUOTE(davidke20 @ Oct 2 2014, 08:53 PM) Just did mine, had a lengthy crap with it, which I don't wanna mention it anymoar. Almost breakdown and cry haha.1) Detach speed sensor plug 2) Pull the bloody sensor out 3) Put in new sensor 4) Plug back cable Ok seriously, the sensor got 2 locking edge(refer to your replacement unit). Just gradually goyang it abit and pull it out. Don't worry, the sensor is prastik, the gebox is cast iron, so it won't break your gebox so easily. ya, i noticed the 2 locking edge. i scared by pulling too hard the edges will break n fall into the hole then cannot take out. i already tried pulling quite hard but still cannot then i dun dare anymore. |

I find 10W-40 SS suits Savvy nicely. Quieter than using 10W-30 (Mach 5) yet still gives similar FC.
I always buy from Tesco and AEON Big during promotion. Mobil, Shell, Castrol, Total and Tesco Choice. haha. All imported, cheap and quality assured. Never try 5W-40 FS yet... |

I use Bendix MKT. originally bought n installed in my BLM to replace worn ori KBP pad, tapi tak boleh pakai. good initial grip but poor ultimate grip. cannot even lock my wheels during emergency braking, unike ori KBP pad.
then i tried on my Savvy, much better feel than ori KBP pad pulak. Ori pad on Savvy feels snappy, the Bendix feels more progressive. but makan disc a bit. Ori KBP pad i installed back at BLM, very smooth, not snappy as on Savvy. i guess it's d weight difference of both cars makes d feel very different, altho both same pad and same disc. |

QUOTE(us9392 @ Nov 20 2014, 06:49 AM) Hello David sifu Sounds like fuel starvation.Lately when travelling on uphill slope, the manual savvy seem to be loosing power. Even flooring the gas pedal. there seem to be No reponse on first and second gear. Then when it passes from uphill to level road again , the power comes back. There is no check light on the dashboard. Can it be the catalytic converter kongoff ? What other things I need to check ? Thank U. |

throttle body reset:
from what i learned from RS Auto, after cleaning, open d coolant cap n let d engine idle until the radiator fan ON/OFF twice, then job done. so far it works fine for me everytime i clean the TB. drives beautifully after each cleaning. |

QUOTE(terngk @ Nov 20 2014, 06:07 PM) Just to be clear. 1-3 korack. 1. After clean the throttle body. 2. Open the coolant cap which is the most right upper ones. 3. Start the engine and let it run and some how the radiator fan will start running and off and run and off again. 4. Need to stop engine after the second run or doesn't matter? last one i usually off, then start again only drive. |
