Good morning Savvy lovers,

My hubby and I just bought a used 2005 Savvy MT from a car dealer in Puchong. Tell you the truth no nothing about car engine. We're int'l students and needed an affordable compact car. The savvy looks fine, feels fine, and now we are proud owner of it..

Anyway, we want to check the engine again, coz yesterday, I parked parallel, and changed the gear between first and reverse quite often (new car, don't want to bump and ruin the "fresh" feeling ), and I smell like a burned smell from the engine. It also made a weird sound like the engine still running when I turn it off (of coz I heard it once I'm out of the car). So I started the engine again, and turn it of after a while. Went out and the sound is gone.

Sorry for the long post, u all can see that we truly are newbie about car.

So anyway, Is it the water coolant? Gonna check it later since we haven't used it since last night. And where to go to check it? Trusted and recommended mechanic for savvy from u guys. We stay around Gombak, we're students, I kinda understand Malay a bit so language will not be a problem. Just don't want to go to some mechanic shops and they will rip us coz we sooo green about this things (and again we're students, so budget kinda tight).

Oh one more thing, how to change the clock time? Thanksss...

Last night, the temp bar was at 3, no more than that. So should I do engine check up?

Can anyone enlighten me on the price of fuel pump for savvy? And where should I get it? Any suggestion? Thx.

Savvy-ers, I went to RenauTech yesterday to check my car. Just general check up of the engine and the results were timing belt and coolant changed. They also changed the reverse light bulb. Anyway, since then, everytime i open my door (when the machine is on) the emergency indicator also turned on. Before it wasn't like that. Is this normal? Or the technician accidentally "made" it like that?

Anyway, timing belt around 380RM plus labor charges 140rm

1) we changed the timing belt around October 2014 at renautech (as per your recommendation). As far as alternator, the guy who changed the battery said there's no problem. He tested when the engine is on, and he unplug one of the battery plug, and the engine was still running so he said alternator is fine. I dont know bout this, just want to give you further info.

2) we just change the engine oil this Monday (19/01/2015) also at renautech.

3) Fuel injector was overflowed (i think, because I can smell gasoline), but maybe because the car accelerated by itself until 4000 rpm.

4) engine sounded normal until of course it started to accelerate by itself.

5) probably short circuit bcoz of the jumper thingy? i dont know, gonna send savvy to renautech tomorrow.

6) One more info, the fan was running when I put the key in and turn it to ON (engine not started though). And when I started the engine, and turned it off, the fan still running until couple of minutes. Could it be the chip or something?
