How much is a new speed sensor nowadays?

I paid RM200 at Renautech about 3 years ago.

It is now spoiled again.

On and off, the yellow AUTO light come on the dashboard and the speedometer drops to 0 while driving and jerks a bit.

Sometimes the AMT changes from D to N at the traffic light.

same problem, have a feeling that it might be connection issue.

If it's spoilt, how come it can occasionally comes back to live?

Anyway, I bought a new OEM speed sensor from Dennis (Hopefree) for RM70.

Just COD at Mahkota Cheras Shell Station at 9pm.

Will get my mechanic to install it tomorrow. smile.gif

My mechanic has installed the new OEM speedometer sensor.

It is behind the engine near the firewall.

Open up the plastic engine cover.

Unplug the old sensor.

Pop in the new one.

Put back the engine cover.

Hi guys. Recently my savvy manual oil warning light starts flickering at idle. It goes away the moment I step on the accelerator. Anyone has experienced this? Is the oil pressure sensor / switch likely to fail?

My car also gives out a slight tak-tak-tak sound, like tappets or valve lifters sound. Only happens at certain RPM when I press accelerator.

Any ideas? Oil has been changed 3000km ago. Not yet due for service.

Oil warning like because the oil pressure sensor almost failed. It looks fine when rpm is increasing. I changed it but now it still happens because i use 10-30 oil and maybe because it is less thick. Going to try 10-40 next service and maybe it wont appear anymore.

My AMT fluid is due to be changed in mid-August.

Where can I buy a one-litre bottle of ELF Renaultmatic D3 Syn?

And how much would it cost nowadays?

Shell, not sure what weight. Only happens when engine is hot. Cold no issue I realise.

I got the AMT fluid changed at Renautech this morning.

It now comes in a new packing.

The price for a 1-litre bottle is RM55.

Labour to drain out old fluid, flush with new fluid two times, and finally fill with new fluid is RM20.

GST is RM4.50, making a total of RM79.50.

Consumed exactly one litre, and left with an empty bottle as souvenir. biggrin.gif

Hi, I own a 08 plate savvy and I live in the UK. I have owned the car now for just under 12 months and have had the same problem since it's purchase. The car will illuminate an ecu light and idle at 2000 revs when the car first starts after being sat for under a day. If the car has been started before hand this issue will not occur. To solve this issue I have to turn the key in the ignition until the dashboard illuminates and leave it in this position for 10 seconds or so. When the engine is then started the problem is gone.

This is also the OBD code that I receive: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0638

Looking at the history of my car, I can see that the throttle body was renewed last year. I did go ahead and clean the throttle body with some cleaner but that did not seem to help, the car also jerks when pulling away in 1st gear.

Further History shows that the car was perhaps damage in water. Thank you for any help that you can provide.

Sifu sekalian, yet again my clutch got problem. Very hard to engage reverse gear, it always grinds when I do so but the other gears are a little better. Think got to send to Renautech again haih

Since the clutch position become so low already (like 4-5 inches only), I go open bonnet and check a bit. Looks like the mount has cracked.

Anyone here know how to fix? I can pay coz if send to Renautech is kinda inconvenient for me, pretty far from where I live.

Guys, today my car just gave me on headache.
1)Temperature went up to 4 bar during heavy traffic. When the radiator fan starts it went back to 3 bar. Should i change the fan motor?

2)Speed suddenly drop to zero. based on the reply from this forum, problem might be because of speed sensor. Any contacts workshop (Kajang/Bangi) that can fix this with reasonable price?

Just so you know, AMT fluid and manual transmission oil is totally different.

There is no automatic transmission fluid (ATF) needed for our Savvy.
