Not SAYA TURUN KERETA TAPI TARAK MATI INJIN in your case, can still fight because you dont 'willingly' give away your key. |

Good morning Savvy lovers,
My hubby and I just bought a used 2005 Savvy MT from a car dealer in Puchong. Tell you the truth no nothing about car engine. We're int'l students and needed an affordable compact car. The savvy looks fine, feels fine, and now we are proud owner of it.. Anyway, we want to check the engine again, coz yesterday, I parked parallel, and changed the gear between first and reverse quite often (new car, don't want to bump and ruin the "fresh" feeling Sorry for the long post, u all can see that we truly are newbie about car. So anyway, Is it the water coolant? Gonna check it later since we haven't used it since last night. And where to go to check it? Trusted and recommended mechanic for savvy from u guys. We stay around Gombak, we're students, I kinda understand Malay a bit so language will not be a problem. Just don't want to go to some mechanic shops and they will rip us coz we sooo green about this things (and again we're students, so budget kinda tight). Thank you in advance.. and sorry again for the long post yaa.. Oh one more thing, how to change the clock time? Thanksss... This post has been edited by JmQFmM8879: Oct 2 2014, 09:53 AM |

Thanksss... The sound u heard while engine is off is from the radiator fan which is still running to cool d engine down. it's NORMAL but should not happen too frequently. i guess it's becos u took too long to park that's why the temperature went up quite a bit. The burned smell- not entirely sure but do check ur temperature. if it goes beyond the normal 3 bars, some checking and/or repairing needs to be done. QUOTE(JmQFmM8879 @ Oct 2 2014, 09:28 AM) Good morning Savvy lovers, First of all, lemme welcome you to the Shawie small family. We're a small community that supporting each other. To answer your few questions, please refer below:My hubby and I just bought a used 2005 Savvy MT from a car dealer in Puchong. Tell you the truth no nothing about car engine. We're int'l students and needed an affordable compact car. The savvy looks fine, feels fine, and now we are proud owner of it.. Thank you in advance.. and sorry again for the long post yaa.. Oh one more thing, how to change the clock time? Thanksss... 1) Burnt smell could be clutch positioning fork misaligned. Can be adjusted, but clutch pedal could get heavier. Other than this, possibilities are jammed brakes or bad exhaust that makes u feels like the car got the burning smell. 2) Engine sound after key-off. That could be the radiator fan. Mine has the fan noise for up to a minute after engine off. Yes you are right, it could be the coolant. Might be clogged up radiator tank as well. Or, its the fan relay that has gone haywire. Usually, radiator tank flush service is around RM90, coolant a better 1s are around RM60. Magician labor(to dismantle the tank for flush) is RM40. Roughly RM200 to get the radiator tank clean. Fan relay is RM25, usually labor included. So, pray that its only the fan relay faulty. 3) To adjust time clock, switch the dashboard indicator from trip meter to ODO reading(total vehicle traveled mileage) if its not already there. U can tell by reading an small wording besides the time. If there's a word "TRIP", that is trip reading, tap the reset button once, it will switch to ODO reading. Once you're at ODO, the "TRIP" wording is gone. To reset the clock, long press the reset button until the HOUR start blinking. Tap the reset button to advance the counter. Once done, leave it for about 5 seconds, then the blink will move to MINUTE. Again, use the reset button to advance counter. Once done, leave it for about 5 seconds and we're set. How do u know its set? When there's no more blinking Finally, as a new owner, if you're not sure whether the timing belt is being replaced, its better to get it changed. It'll cost u arnd 400-500. You wouldn't want a snapped timing belt that cost u the engine damage. There aren't reputable Shawie workshops in Northen KL as far as I know. Best shot I gave is Renautech, which located at Subang USJ1. If you're not sure, can google for their existance by searching "Renautech Subang" Once again, welcome to Shawie family |

QUOTE(hcgui @ Oct 2 2014, 02:40 PM) guys, i need help. Just did mine, had a lengthy crap with it, which I don't wanna mention it anymoar. Almost breakdown and cry just bought a gearbox speed sensor. i'm facing the 0kmh symptom occasionally esp after heavy rain. i tried to cabut d original sensor but cant. any idea how to replace it? 1) Detach speed sensor plug 2) Pull the bloody sensor out 3) Put in new sensor 4) Plug back cable Ok seriously, the sensor got 2 locking edge(refer to your replacement unit). Just gradually goyang it abit and pull it out. Don't worry, the sensor is prastik, the gebox is cast iron, so it won't break your gebox so easily. |
