Thanks davidke20 for arranging/bringing etc for dyno and makan.
enjoyed great dry curry/laksa, gotten lotsa information about the car, and even on Sepang after some chat with the boss and 1 of the guys there. the turbo like torque on the early gears was amusing as hell to observe as well peaked at almost 270nm e-lite nice meeting sifu as well and honored to have sifu accompanying us for this trip |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Jan 6 2015, 03:54 PM) I don't know to laugh or cry at the people pumping RON97 now. Myvi min. RON90, Savvy min. RON91 e-liteTechnically, higher RON will retard predetonation. So, having bigger ron can ADVANCE ignition timing to obtain more horse powah and lower fuel consumption, but the price different between RON95 and RON97 is injustifyable in my opinion. Provided the mere 2RON is quite impossible to make the ECU decide to advance ignition timing so to speak. As a matter of fact, a regularly running RON95 vehicle if suddenly put RON97, be expect to power loss that's also based on the max ignition advancement your mapping dictates la. so it doesn't advance more than what was originally pre programmed in the ecu, it will only not retard the ignition so technically you're maximizing what your ecu offers (which isn't much if it was meant for RON91 for my case, it's made to be borderline knocking on 95 in which during hot afternoon or after hard revving or high engine load it will knock especially for 1.8MT cars. so it doesnt advance more than that, however if it can help prevent knocking the better especially under 7k rpm high stress sepang environments. i still don't understand why 4B10 10.5:1 will knock much easier with similar ignition timings as opposed to 4B11 10:1, despite having similar advancement to maximize RON95. to me it is just a 0.5 difference of compression ratio, however i suspect there's much more to it. maybe sifu K3nnYkl82 can clarify ps: 8gb ram in a 32bit operating system |

QUOTE(NOX @ Jan 8 2015, 03:51 PM) my dad ok with manual. as long not stuck in kl jem. that's not a good indication at all.currently using hdeo. will monitor mileage. plan to change after 10,000km. lets see the colour of the oil later. in fact, it generally indicates nothing other than clean EO (especially if ran after say, 10k km) coming out means all your carbon/blow by's are still stuck in the engine and probably forming sludge. |

QUOTE(NOX @ Jan 9 2015, 08:10 AM) bro davidke20 basically explain most of it.think of it this way: if it cleans the engine, whatever it has cleaned will have to go somewhere. wouldn't all good engine oil end up just pitch black anyways upon drain? how is that any indication of an oil/engine quality at all? if you wish to learn more, there is a pinned thread here with a lot of resource/reading on the first page: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3310512 |

QUOTE(iskazulka @ Jan 9 2015, 08:58 AM) i know that like Quazacolt said cannot justify by the colour of the EO because after put new EO after drain old EO, still will be mixed with 0.01% old oil, unless do flushing. it's not about old oil la... by right, any EO drained (assuming it isn't bad EO), should be very pitch black, carrying whatever carbon/blow bys etc generated by your engine combustion process.if every brand eo also come out black, how are you going to determine anything just by everything being the same pitch black? |
