Item(s): Woo Audio WA6-SE Tube Amplifier + Various Tubes & umbilical cord provided by Woo Audio

Package includes:

Woo Audio WA6-SE Tube Amplifier

Power?

2000mW @ 32 ohms
1900mW @ 60 ohms
1800mW @ 120 ohms
1300mW @ 300 ohms
800mW @ 600 ohms (with 6CY7 tubes)

Power/Drive Tubes

Westinghouse 6DR7 (pair) 10hours - Warm with 3D imaging capabilities but lack bass slam
Haltron 6DR7 (pair) <10hours - Same as the above but lacks 3D imaging strength compared to Westinghouse
Sylvania rebranded 6FD7 (pair fat bottles) <10hours (got it recently) - Balanced sounding with best bass slam and slightly mid-forward among other tubes and highly recommended among WA6-SE users on head-fi and pairs well orthodynamic headphones
GE 6GL7 + Adapter from 8 pin to 9 pin (pair) 50 hours - Paired with USAF 596 and you get nice clarity and pairs very nicely with orthodynamic headphones such as Audeze due to its high gain amplification factor, similar to 6FD7)
RCA 6EW7 (pair) 150 hours- Smooth and tubey sound but lacks bass slam (excellent with headphones such as HD800 where soundstaging feels larger compared to the rest)
Raytheon 6EW7 (pair fat bottles) 50 hours - Slightly forward sounding to RCA6EW7 but contains similar characteristics of the RCA's
GE 6EM7/6EA7 - Forward sounding and slightly harsh to my ears

Rectifier Tubes

Sophia Electric - 274B (upgraded tubes with approximately 200hours - warm sounding )
USAF 596 - Best reference rectifier in my collection ($150-$250) (approximately 100hours - detailed and best treble extension of all rectifier tubes I have)
Mullard GZ34/5AR4 - (smooth and forward sounding, Mullard makes GZ34 for military purposes and is known to last for a very long time)
Shugang 274B (stock tube - bad sound)

For those who are interested how Dubstep Girl of Head-fi rates 5U4G tubes

DG 5U4g impressions thread

My personal choice of tube rolling combination would be:
USAF 596 + 6GL7
USAF 596 + 6FD7
USAF 596 + 6EW7 (bass light however)

Sophia 274B + 6FD7 (excellent bass slam)
Sophia 274B + RCA 6EW7 (warm and tubey sound)
Sophia 274B + Raytheon 6EW7 (warm and better treble extension compared to RCA 6EW7)

Mullard GZ34 + Raytheon 6EW7 (treble is better extended and feels slightly mid-forward'ish)

Adapters

Original Woo Audio 6GL7 to 6DE7

Original Woo Audio 596 to 5U4G

2359 Glenn custom made 6SN7 to 6DE7 (Glenn made this for Dubstep Girl on head-fi and bought it from her, do bear in mind that is not part of Woo Audio's compatible tube list and any damage incurred from using it renders any warranty from Woo Audio but allows the use the very popular 6SN7 tubes)

I have used this adapter for about 20hours on the WA6-SE with a pair of RCA 6SN7 Grey Glass have excellent mids(I am not selling this tube but if you want I would have to charge an additional RM150)

Please note all the above impressions what it sounds like to my ears and may varies based on your DAC and headphone setup and the above impressions on tubes are solely based on current setup

Price: SOLD

(USAF 596 now prices around $150-$250 USD and rarely pops up on eBay)

Sophia Electric 274B, 6GL7 to 6DE7 adapter and 596 to 5U4G adapter would set you back RM1000 alone based on price and exchange rate excluding shipping and handling cost

Warranty: 2 months left by regional distributor

Dealing method: Preferably COD, buyer to inspect. Postage will be available but do understand the shipping cost a 10KG box excluding tubes

Location of seller: Kuala Lumpur, Mon't Kiara

Contact method/details: PM me

Age of item: 10 months

---

Item(s) conditions: 9.5/10, amp is very well taken care off while tubes have never been used 8 consecutively as advised by Woo Audio to protect the tubes life

Still considering the above options but more inclined towards DNA Stratus for the time being, and cavalli audio liquid glass

WA5 tubes are quite expensive to roll, 300Bs, 5U4G,6SN7 (all expensive tubes rclxub.gif )

Or you can consider the GSX MK2 which will save all the tube rolling cost. Long wait time though hmm.gif
