Yaya... You are right... There are two condition to fulfill I think.. First is the person has to beat elite four and second is both friends have to be online at the same time at least for once... If second condition is not fulfilled, the person avatar will not be seen and appear as ? And third pokemon is yet to be unlocked till the person online. Find this on forum though, enlighten me if I am wrong..
