There seems to be a sound issue for this KK 4.4.2
Whatsapp notification or email notification volume is low despite maximum adjustment in the settings.

YES! I noticed the same thing too. But this only happens to the apps, I am not facing any issue like this when someone is calling in. My ringtone volume is as loud as before.
*
I went to the volume settings, adjust the slider to the left and then to max again (although the slider was at max before).
After this adjustment, all sound volume went back normal.
Can you try if this fix your sound problem?

Did a quick photo test on the kit kat firmware

The above was taken with 8mp and 100% crop. Weird thing i found was the ISO 400 and 800 that I set, turned out to be ISO 640 and 1250 from the exif data. Weird but I will try shoot more on weekend to test.

And here the sample photo of 15mp (top) and 20mp (bottom) for ISO 400 and 800 and 100% crop.

I think I don't feel much improvement on the camera  sweat.gif

There's a limit as to how detail images can be.
I notice noise improvement in high ISO usage. Also if you try to use manual ISO in manual mode, the liveview is smooth. No more laggy liveview.

I did took some pic b4 update to 4.4. But due to in hurry ( cause too kan cheong to update to 4.4) most are out of focus. Only 2 set can use for comparison.
When I got time to crop I post up ya. From what I see, SA mode got improvement. Manual mode not much different.

The smooth liveview in manual mode is a huge improvement, considering that this camera can produce some amazing photos at ISO-50. smile.gif
Last time it was a pain in the arse to use it.

QUOTE(LA-DC5 @ Mar 26 2014, 11:04 AM)
yeah, I had that issue as well.
But it just seemed to go away after a while.
I think I use the volume control button to reduce volume to zero (mute), and increase the volume up again after that, and the sound came back to the regular speaker at the bottom.
*
When was the last time this problem occur to you?
I did the same too but the problem came back again not long after that. sad.gif

Can you change ringtone and report back on the progress? I changed my ringtong, restart and apparently everything works fine with the sound issue (not too sure - too many variables involved).

So sorry then. Maybe can check out xda and see what's the cause

Having the soft sound issue as well. My temporary resolution is to change ringtone. But sometimes it will also reoccur but less frequent.

did a simple search on xda. Found the following "solutions" worth trying:

1. uncheck ClearAudio+, and check xLOUD
OR
2. disable smaart connect and restart your phone

do report back if these "solutions" work or not
*
Nope, tried already. sad.gif

vtw, is the sound soft on the main speaker? or is the sound actually coming out from the earpiece speaker? cause when i search on xda, most user complan sound is coming out from the earpiece instead of the main speaker at the bottom
*
Yeah that's the main problem. Sometimes sound come from speaker and then it will redirected to internal earpiece.

I use Nilkin SP Tempered also crack already after 5 months usage. Behind a lot of scratches because I keep in my pocket together with keys. Overall pretty okay for RM 30 protection. biggrin.gif

Weird. I am already running .108 firmware but Sony prompt me to update to .108 via PC Companion again.
