Are you guys using third party keyboards? If not, maybe one of those will help with mistyping? I’m using Kii Keyboard. So far I’m happy with it.

It's not the aluminium button I'm concerned about; it's the spring and rubber seal beneath it. With my locksceen widget and tap to wake, I will not need to use the power button anymore.

So far I've installed smart call handling, calendar, messaging, sketch, notes and clock from the Z2 port with no issues. I like the smart call handling very much.

I got a question though. How can I replace my stock Chinese font without changing my English font? I tried one of those app on the play store. It replaced my stock English fonts too.

I wonder if I can maintain root with kitkat.

Strange bugs. My brother has a stock. 136 firmware. No problems with the speaker bug.

Maybe Kitkat will be less buggy.

What other methods can I try? I'm not well today so I'm feeling less energetic to research but I'm willing to try your suggestions. One waytthink it can work is if I use Titanium Backup to backup the app, then you restore my backup copy. Your phone *might have to be rooted though.

So I guess the only other way to get your AR-Effects back is to do a firmware restore.

I think you'll need to search online for the method. I can't remember because I've only been restoring from my nandroid backup when I get problems.

You can manually flash the updated firmware using flashtool.

I hope they include double tap to wake.

How to update to 14.3.A.0.681:

Put 'C69XX_14.3.A.0.681.flashable.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'C69XX_14.3.A.0.681_Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard' (the internal storage!);
Flash 'C69XX_14.3.A.0.681.flashable.zip' in TWRP;
NOTE: do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'C69XX_14.3.A.0.681_Stripped.ftf' using flashtool;
Reboot to system.

WARNING FOR ROOTED .681!

DO NOT TRY TO RESTORE TO ONE OF YOUR .136 NANDROID BACKUPS.

Because the restore will fail and you will be stuck in a boot loop just like me.

Here's what happened. I tried to restore to one of my nandroid backups that has a deodexed .136fw.
TWRP said it failed. So I selected the reboot option and now it's stuck on the Sony logo.
The only way to shut down the phone is by pressing the volume up and power buttons together or press the red button at the sim card slot.
I could flash the .681 ftf file using flashtool to my phone and everything looks normal, but when I reboot, it is still stuck at the Sony logo.

Now I'm waiting for a solution at XDA.

For Answering Machine, is it possible to use an .mp3 file instead of recording from voice? I thought of using a professionally recorded greeting.

I'm not sure if that can work because there was an issue with TWRP and CWM not being able to load any .zip. I don't know if that has been fixed yet.
This morning I bricked my phone trying to restore from my nandroid backup using TWRP. It couldn't load the .zip then it bricked. So I used Flashtool to install .534, root, install dualrecovery, then update to .136.

You can try your method and see if it works. If not, then do what I just described.

Yeah, it's still new. Someone on other forums report 3rd party movie players can only output audio through headphones and not the built in speaker. I'll wait for the next official update. I'm surprised they haven't got basic stuff like full screen caller on Kitkat or cool stuff like double tap to wake.

No it won't affect os update. But you'll need to install all your apps and change the default settings to your liking.
