How to Root Your Device

This is Easy Root Tool for Z1 Compact (might also work on other Xperia devices). It's almost one-click root. Currently only Windows is supported, I might add linux support later. Bootloader is untouched!

Guys. Wanna ask...

Lately my touch screen got some issues. Like when i type, it presses the key next to the one i pressed.

E.g i press S but come out A. Keeps going on and on. Not my finger problem cuz i slowly press and make sure i am on S but still the othet button got pressed.

Then sometimes when my left finger touch the screen, it scrolls the page all the way down....

Nv had this with my older androids...

same here, but not sure if its the screen protector, cause whenever i have that problem, i only wipe my screen and the problem gone.

this is what i have raised before as im having the same issues too. what i done is reboot the phone, then ok. but after sometime its happen again. really annoyed when its happen. sometime when opening website the page scroll itself without im touching it.

im so annoyed and angry when it happen and show my tantrum on the screen by pressing hard.

believe its a fw bug.

I don't know if my phone has the same problem. Because my thumbs are kinda big. Sometimes I get to type super smooth and fast without any mistakes and sometimes it will go all crazy, typo everywhere.

Are you guys using third party keyboards? If not, maybe one of those will help with mistyping? I’m using Kii Keyboard. So far I’m happy with it.

As I promised in the V6 thread, I will do a review of the bumper I bought from eBay. It arrived just moments ago. Anyway without any further ado, here you go.











You can get it here, on eBay. I don't get the premium feel when I first grab this with my hand. It feels like a cheap piece of plastic, but not entirely made of plastic. Only the bottom cyan coloured part is made out of plastic, hard plastic. However, the top black coloured part is made out of rubber-like silicone. Move on to the ports. As you can see in the photos above. You may only get access to the audio jack on top, SIM card slot, the spot where you tie a strap on it, speaker on the bottom, micro USB charging port, the whole front and back and secondary noise cancelling mic at the back. Move on to the buttons. After putting this case on, it requires slightly more force to press them. As for the camera shutter button, you may actually press all the way down without giving the enough time for your phone to focus if you apply more force accidentally which happens occasionally. About charging, I don't have a magnetic cable or dock, so I don't find it a big problem. But, as you can see in the fourth photo that when my cable is plugged in, it will slightly push/stretch the rubber upwards. Which I think it will loses its default shape after some time. To my eyes, it makes me feel like the black bezel around the screen becomes a lot thicker/bigger when you have this case on. It also makes me feel like the screen went a little smaller, but that is only the look of course.

That's all I've to say about this hybrid bumper case for Sony Xperia Z1. Let me know what you think of my review, and sorry for the bad grammar though. I'm trying to give my best review of it. Please tell me, if you wish to see more photos from other angles or whatever. Or you can just ask me whatever questions related to it.

Edit: It also comes with a screen protector. So, kudos to the store for that. At the time I bought this, it only costs USD5.59, but for now it is USD5.94.

Replaced my mobo twice for my phone. Waterproofing still fine. I mean, I only dipped into the water fully after the last repair lol. Warranty not voided la. You repair at their authorised center no problem, besides, you're changing to cover /housing. Only thing is I dunno how much it'll cost.

its not the keyboard problem. it happens when scrolling as well.

while surfing, my left thumb touches the screen, it scrolls all the way down.

definitely not keyboard. i suspect its something to do with the software... something buggy.

How much you guys think will the price of Z1 drop once Z2 is out?

Thinking of getting z2 after this z1.
It's supposed to be similar right?
Only the battery and RAM is different.

Is it worth it to change?

better and larger screen - 5" -> 5.2" IPS
faster processor - 2.2 -> 2.3GHz
bigger RAM - 2GB -> 3GB
bigger battery capacity - 3000 -> 3200MAH
mono -> stereo front speaker
slightly slimmer dimension

to me, it's not really worth it la cos most of the improvement will be hardly noticeable except the screen viewing angle and stereo speaker

Well depending on the price they'll offer it at I guess.
But I heard that it's going to be 500 / 1k above the original Z1 price.
Or maybe they take over z1's price.

Cause my microphone is already muffled when i talk into it.
So thought of changing it, and give it to my mum or something.

yeah... i think most probably it will be priced similarly to z1's initial launch price. that's just my guess.

how come i cant see the stereo front speakers from the pics ? is it the same as HTC one front facing speakers?

the omni balance design hide it ma.

i think sony did offer trade in program, for ZU i think. but the trade in price was very low, unattractive at all.

apparently, that touch screen problem is with most z1's as mentioned in sony and xda forums.

alot of users are frustrated as there are close to 0 response from sony regarding it albeit being posted in sony forums.

i did a test on touch screen ( setting > about phone > diagnostics > test device > touch screen ). it gives u a 10 sec to conteng the screen. everything went well. do it for the 2nd time and the line keeps breaking after 1-2 secs.

Don't worry. Sony has put a lot of attention in details like crafting the perfect aluminium home button for u to press. 70 times per day no prb.

It's not the aluminium button I'm concerned about; it's the spring and rubber seal beneath it. With my locksceen widget and tap to wake, I will not need to use the power button anymore.

So far I've installed smart call handling, calendar, messaging, sketch, notes and clock from the Z2 port with no issues. I like the smart call handling very much.

I got a question though. How can I replace my stock Chinese font without changing my English font? I tried one of those app on the play store. It replaced my stock English fonts too.

well, if u check back previous thread, i do face this problem b4 also. but very rarely and it only happens if i play my phone lying flat. but each time i test it on the test menu, it's ok.

but now... it seems the touch screen is better that it's been quite some time i did not notice this problem happening anymore.

I've heard the issue numerous times, only with screen protectors applied or ASF removed.

I actually removed the ASF n used for a week n it happened to me. Then i slap SGP glass on luckily the problem never come back.

Don't you worry. I have used Xperia Arc for 3.5 years. The power button is the same as this, flimsy. Feels like it want to break but until today, still no problem. Works like new.
