I enjoy food same as I enjoy photography.
When I met photography, it was such a great spark when I combine it with my beloved food and various delicacy.

I like the tastiest and mouth watering angle of the foods, which always makes me want to have the bite on those nice food...

Begin with the interest to take photo of food with a normal camera, the interest evolve into food photography hobby when I started to own DSLR camera.

Needs improvement on the composition, exposure and lighting.

It depends on how far you want to go, for blogging / Facebook purpose these photos are fine but to grade it at a higher scale, all the photos are considered careless and have little to no commercial value ....... except for that sliced strawberry in a bowl.

Your wu kok picture also has potential, just avoid photographing at such awkward angle.

For the fish it's better to photograph it as close as you can, of course if you're using 50mm then the MFD is limited.

The latest pic of the strawberry tart, that one's not a good shot. You can do better.

Angle will depend on how the food is displayed vs background vs available lights around.

most of my photos are quick snapshot, so there has no time to arrange for background or lighting things.

btw, for the fish shot, if it is too close, aren't it become only shoot on the fish head or the whole photo full with just the fish?

Your photographs are generally careless, very careless.

Take note of the background and the lines.

The post at 01:50 PM - now that's more like it.

The gurney paragon and nyonya fest one has potential too. You just have to be careful.

I didn't update it for a long time. still have some 80 pictures to upload.

The Gurney Paragon photo on the left looks good actually, need to do some PP on the lighting. The one the right has quite some distration on upper left and right side but the background is clear.

The nyonya food photo has potential but it's spoiled by the exposure control, and the cutting of table lines across the plate.

Keep trying, you'll get there. I see you have eye for composition. Takes a while to get there.

I am still learn to try on the commercial shot photography, as previously, I just shoot food for fun.
I have a commercial advertising photographer who share similar knowledge as you share for me right now, but didn't point out my photos as he think my shot is an "impromptu snapshot", so no need so much consideration...

I should put more consideration and effort on the background which pointed up by you, thanks so much.
