I think its just marketing strategy right? because anything u add to the car which is not factory fitted is consider aftermarket and accessories hence car manufacturer will void the warranty because adding or changing what was factory fitted will make the product out of the manufacturers specification or differ from it's original intended design.

I think I told you like insurance company, they won't insure your aftermarket parts on your car because those items are fitted by outsiders but you can ask insurance to insure those aftermarket parts if you want but need to pay more premium. davidke20 correct me if I'm wrong here.

Maybe you can start to look around beside the branded brand names because there are now more things around compare to few years back. Which would perform better than some established brands just that the more unknown brand is very low profile.
