Our second half goals was really nice. A classic counter attack. No need to wait patiently for opposition to regroup.

Seriously... one more and a CDM, a few fresh players and a new RB.

4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 both need atleast one complete midfielder, and CDM must be fast n able to play full 90minutes. Flamini n Arteta r in 30s, speed isnt in their value anymore. 2 CM also mean more spaces to cover for each compare to 1AM+2CM/DM in 4-2-3-1 or 2CM+1DM / 2AM+1CM in 4-3-3.
If opponent manage to do quick break out, midfield in 4-4-2 system will be outnumber n overrun.

In our first half we were actually playing without any proper formation... such a mess.
In the second half you could see who is doing what. Much more disciplined and organised.

442 or 4231, it doesn't matter. The interchange between players are more important than rigid formations. None of Arsene's teams played a true 442 anyway.

Gilberto is the master of subtlety, hence the nickname "Invisible Wall". Great player. Paddy on the other hand wasn't lightning quick in his sprints, but the way he dictates the tempo and switches from defence to attack with his trademark spins are mind blowing. Only Rosicky (and probably Ramsey) matches that for the time being.

Even in our current 4-5-1 formation, we tend to get caught by fast counter-attacks, let alone switch to a 4-4-2.

Anyway, here's hoping for a repeat of last year's performance and result at the Allianz. COYG! flex.gif
