QUOTE(Casanova88 @ Mar 23 2014, 12:52 PM)
Giroud is still good. He has improved a lot. He just needs a good striking partner like Benzema/Rooney to shine.

I don't hate Walcott but he is not a 1st team player for me. Suitable for super-sub role.

interesting. i thought giroud was good 1/3 of the season, now he's shite to me. "improved a lot" would've been the explanation for him in that 1/3 seson, but now he's lost it. he's a good "lamp post" player for midfielders to make 1-2 passing with, but alone he's mostly useless. true he's improved from last season, but still not good enough for me. if he's leaving to get back to france next season i wont be angry (provided we sign a new ST of course).

i'm guessing you have another player you wish arsenal would buy for the RW position, or are you advocating AOC/Gnabry for the RW position? because if everyone's fit, i'd play theo on RW. him and poldi are the two most lethal players we have in our roster, and while he lacks the consistent finishing of podolski he makes up with speed and could benefit from ozil's passes.

which brings me to that same question from last season: who the f do we sign for the ST role. suarez aint moving, costa might move to a big money team, higuain well that ship has sailed.

imo it was because we had a high line playing against a counter attacking team with speed up front (hazard/schurrle and a very determined torres). we can play a high line but we better have the players to compliment this tactic if it fails, you cant expect kosc to chase every single thing. mertesacker is a beast but playing him in a high line against speedy oppositions is just... you know. also in fault is playing arteta, another slow player who doesnt offer much protection for per.

we played poldi and ross on the wings, these guys do not make runs forward. and let's not talk about that french bloke upfront and his speed. knowing this lack of speed, chelsea bombed forward with their fullbacks, nothing to worry of as we couldnt take advantage. even if we somehow could there is luiz/matic taking care of the situation. we got tactically outplayed.

so based on this game alone we could see some things that should be rectified for next season. get a quick striker (as if no one knows about this already), reassess podolski's status in the team, get a better defensive midfielder, and do something about sagna and that RB position.

if we get a replacement for arsene it would have to be a proper manager, i dont want to be like chelsea who changes managers every so often. if wenger had to leave, it'd have to be someone young so that he could build a legacy for himself here, not using arsenal as a stepping stone. Jurgen Klopp.

when's the FA cup game gonna be? i sure hope we dont bottle that, finally a favourite to win a trophy. if we bottle it somehow i got nothing to say, something is rotten within the team.

winning this game would mean a lot, even if it doesnt lead to us winning the title. no denying it'll be a tough game, and i honestly dont know if i can expect a fighting performance after all these recent lackluster performances
