Record 28-game ban for horror tackle

A Vietnam international defender has been given a record 28-game ban by the Vietnam Football Federation for a challenge that broke an opponent's leg during a league game.

Tran Dinh Dong fouled Nguyen Anh Hung with an over-the-top tackle that left the Hung Vuong An Giang midfielder in agony in the V-League game on Feb. 26.

The 26-year-old Song Lam Nghe An player was handed the huge ban and fined 20 million dong -- 567 pounds -- while also being ordered to pay Nguyen's medical bills.

Tran's coach Nguyen Huu Thang told local media that the club would appeal the ban, saying: "I will fine him if he does wrong. I think the VFF issued the fine under pressure from public opinion, not based on reality.

"We will appeal because his absence would strongly affect our name and V-League results."

The BBC quotes a VFF statement saying: "The punishment is meant to be a warning to players throughout the nation, where violent behaviour on the field has gradually become more popular."

If the ban is upheld, it would mean that Tran would miss the whole of 2014 through suspension.

SLNA eventually won the game against An Giang 1-0, and currently sit fourth in the V-League after six games

Tukarla beberapa presiden fam pon tak akan bermakna sebab essence sebenar bola sepak ada pada fa negeri. Fa negerilah yg bertanggungjawab pasal pembangunan akar umbi, day to day training and wellfare of proffesional footballers dan seterusnya supplying players to the national team. Rasanya ni adalah asas kelemahahan bolasepak kita yang menjadi titik ketidak puasan hati peminat dan kelembaman bolasepak kita selama ini.

Namun peminat tak faham yang fam secara dasarnya hanyalah satu council ditubuhkan sesama fa negeri untuk general running of competition dan national team. Presiden fam tak ada eksekutive power ke atas fa negeri untuk membetulkan kelemahan di atas. Beliau hanya ada kuasa untuk menasihat yang mana fa negeri tak ada legal obligation untuk ikut jika tidak mahu atau mampu.

Sebab itulah tukarlah presiden fam berapa kali pon , perubahan menyeluruh tidak akan tercapai melainkan keseluruhan fa negeri ada inisiatif sendiri untuk berubah.

Tmj made the right decision by staying in johor because it is there where he can made the most impact.

I think u got it wrong.

People dont demand who they want. People want those failed to step down. Period. Who? There will be suitable candidates. There will. People are tired coz those royalties are untouchable. The idea of pfslj is also to provoke those who's in position next should NEVER get complacent.

The idea of pfslj is those who failed to step down..not abt who to replace and so on. That is different idea already.
