I have come across this photography gears online shop Yamiya and they seem to have pretty good prices, or maybe too good to be true, I'm not sure because I never buy anything from there, yet.

Have you guys bought anything from Yamiya? Is the website trustworthy? The thing I wish to purchase involves few thousand ringgits, feel very insecure buying so expensive things online but the price is so attractive!

Tell me about your shopping experience with Yamiya, is it good or is it bad? Or you have another shops (physical shops or online shops also can) to recommend?

I know it's a bit late, but just wanted to share my experience. Bought a 'holster' for camera from them. Had chosen a full set with additional accessories but when arrived it was one without these accessories. Contacted them and they replied they mistakenly packed and posted a different set. Gave option of either keeping this one and get refund for the difference in price or returning it and they will send the correct set. If return, they will refund my return shipment and ask for my account number. I chose to return and give them the shipment fee and acct number. A couple of days later they sent the correct set and I got it safely.

It was a couple months later that I realized they never refunded the shipment fee and I did not really noticed (it was only RM5+). Contacted them about it, but instead of refunding in cash as agreed they gave a discount voucher for my next purchase from them.

Verdict: Price wise they seem to be cheaper than most. The purchase, payment, etc process seems straightforward and easy. When I contacted them I usually send in evening/night and they will reply same day usually - so very fast. They made mistake in my item, but this can happen to anybody and it was straightforward to tell them about it and get the correct item. Would have thought I would purchase other items in future, but...

They did not refund the shipment fee and after a few months I had to contact them about it. Again, this I can overlook as people can forget. What I don't like is the fact that they gave me a discount voucher instead of the shipment fee. Now the fee is only RM5+ and I even forgot about it myself, but in business what you promise is what you deliver. Once you fail I can't trust you. If I can't trust you with RM5, I will not trust you with something bigger. With so many red flags already, this was the last.

So, from above I leave it up to you to decide as different people different decisions.
