Yesterday early morning woke up, woke my phone up, checking out the time. Then went back to sleep. Afternoon tried to wake my phone. Nothing happened and thinking the battery might gone flat. Left it charged for 3-4 hours, still couldn't boot up. Trying press the power button for 10+ seconds to reboot it. Still nothing happened

QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Mar 3 2014, 12:33 AM) means the battery have some problem. If I were you, i will try to leave it to drain the battery finish then charge again to try.. Not that this might help, but you can try.. I'm not sure if it was the battery problem as the first time when I checked the time in the morning, the battery was left with 50% and I did not use my phone until afternoon. Then I only realised my screen could not wake up after pressing the power button. All sort of combinations of buttons had been tried but to no avail.Best is send back for warranty. I know is best to claim warranty but I bought it from Google Japan Play Store. Have anyone tried to claim warranty from Google Japan? I bought my N5 in Jan'14. |

QUOTE(Tsukiyomi001 @ Mar 3 2014, 01:00 AM) try flashing factory image before attempting warranty I did install Go Launcher and Go Weather app but that was few weeks back. Previously there was no problem of battery drainage. In fact, my phone was not on data connection yesterday.most likely you have a rogue app that's draining the battery How do I flash factory image? I tried to connect to my laptop and it showed QHSUSB_BULK. A quick online check, seemed like a hardware failure... |

QUOTE(Tsukiyomi001 @ Mar 3 2014, 01:58 AM) first, charge up the phone and check if you can get into recovery with vol down + power I have left the phone charged overnight but still couldn't boot up with all the combinations of buttons. I guess I'm super suay to have this happened follow the instructions on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701 you will have to be very unlucky to get hardware failure... back on my i9000 i never had hardware failure despite me abusing it by flashing and installing all kinds of stuff QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Mar 3 2014, 02:34 AM) I guess you wont have a problem claiming warranty, just need to bear the postage to japan.. I don't paying the postage as long as I can get a replacement. Tried calling to Google Japan toll free line but couldn't get through. Called +81-120-950-065. Anyone tried before?Anyway, If I want to flash elementalx from franco, do I need to dirty flash my rom as stated at the op of elementalx thread? I'm using stock rom here btw, how do I dirty flash the stock rom? o.O QUOTE(xxdesire @ Mar 3 2014, 09:05 AM) Sorry, this is my first Android phone, so not sure how this is done. I can't even connect the phone to my laptop...kept showing couldn't find the driver for QHSUSB_BULK. |

But still no avail I got same issue before with QHSUSB_DLOAD on my N7. Not BULK tho. To boot into fastboot: press and hold Power Button + Volume Down at the same time |

Apparently N5 has 2 bootloaders. QUOTE(andyreymex @ Mar 3 2014, 12:51 PM) anyone having camera issue like "can't connect to camera" when open the camera app? Previously, it happened to me too when I was using the Face to Unlock feature. But after that I switched back to Swipe to Unlock... starting the camera app so far so good... until the phone masuk hospital... I bought my Nexus 5 for a month and suddenly 2 days ago it can't start the camera app. I've went to check out the google group discussion: Nexus 5 camera not working been scrolling and reading one by one and lastly I used all the.method mentioned and see what will happen, I'll check it out tonight to see if the camera works. |

Here is the email received.I know is best to claim warranty but I bought it from Google Japan Play Store. Have anyone tried to claim warranty from Google Japan? I bought my N5 in Jan'14. QUOTE Dear Sheng, Thank you for contacting Google. The phone needs to be in country of purchase, when the phone is in Japan and ready for shipping just e-mail me with 'I CONSENT' to the RMA process. Here is a breakdown of the process. 1) Upon receiving your e-mail stating 'I CONSENT' I will process the RMA which will send you an e-mail with four things of note. One, a longer in depth version of this summary. Two, a RMA Shipping Label. Three, a RMA Label. Four, a link to order your new device. 2) The RMA Labels - The RMA Label goes in the box on top of the device and the accessories that came in the original box. The RMA Shipping Label goes on the box and the box is shipped via UPS. 3) The Replacement Cart Link - This is what you use to order your device. We ship you the device even before we receive your old one. This will put an authorization hold (not a charge) on your account, which will be released when we receive your old device. This is of course because we are sending a device before receiving the old one. If you have questions about holds, your bank would be the best to talk to about it as each bank handles them differently. For the most part this does not impact your ability to make purchases, however we have had reports some banks handle this differently. Note: If you want your replacement device faster you can pay to expedite shipping, more details in the cart link. Thank you for contacting us. Feel free to reply to this email and I will respond as soon as I can, you can also contact us at 1-855-83NEXUS (1-855-836-3987). Have a great day, Christopher The Google Support Team It seemed that the phone needs to be returned first before allowing to order a new replacement... |

Hi, pardon me for newbie knowledge. This is my first Android phone and first time trying to root. I have followed through this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507905. Now I'm stuck at Step 3. Rooting. Now my device shown as AOSP on Hammerhead and it seemed couldn't find the driver. I kinda confused and so, how do I go about it?

QUOTE(chinti @ Mar 11 2014, 12:05 AM) for rooting u can root the supersu tht is stated on that page or flash custom rom like most of the people here do. if u use custom rom, make sure u download the right rom else u might brick ur phone. n i think most custom rom page got teach u the step by step guide, im using slimkat, the installation is easy. Yes, I don't intend to install any custom rom for now. The problem here is that I can't seem to copy the SuperSU zip file via the command prompt with below message.QUOTE C:\Users\shawnlst\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb push UPDATE-Sup erSU-v1.91.zip /sdcard/ * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 * * daemon started successfully * error: device not found C:\Users\shawnlst\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools> Previously I installed the Google USB Driver. Would this affect it? |

Hi guys, I'm on stock ROM, unlocked and rooted. I'm not sure if my battery performance is ok. My SOT is approx. 3hrs 40mins before the battery goes flat and mostly on standby mode. Location service off, auto-sync on, email sync hourly, wifi off, on 3G network only. I prefer to get a higher SOT while the battery last longer period than current one. Any advice on how I can improve it? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Mar 14 2014, 09:06 AM) 3G/mobile network will drain your battery more. If you want higher SOT, use wifi and custom kernel. Does it mean that if wifi is switched on, the 3G connection needs to be turned off as well? Any kernel recommended to have higher SOT?Check your APN. +1 Best answers. QUOTE(xxdesire @ Mar 14 2014, 09:26 AM) Remember there are NO best kernel as all of them are good. Yes, I understand there is no such thing as best kernel and thank you for the link. Can you help to point me to a link that I can read up more on what is kernel and how kernel actually works before I decide to install it? No guarantee that the kernels recommended will get the desired SOT you want because it also depends on your usage. Kernels: Franco (latest- r35), Faux (latest- 12), ElementalX (latest- 0.32), Trinity The first three are lyn N5 favourites (especially elementalx). I am on faux. |
