On slimkat+elementalx0.31+ART now, previously stock+exposed+elementalx0.30, will monitor and battery life.
Not using lmt launcher, need to get used to onscreen buttons... @_@
Anyway to show network speed without exposed? Those apps in playstore seem clunky

QUOTE(apendots @ Mar 3 2014, 12:20 AM) sh*t. i was messing around with the DPI on the Textdroider DPI then when i rebooted the device, it wont start. just stuck at the Slimkat logo. a factory reset should fix that if you're rooted, just go adjust the lcddensity in the build.prop for DPI, don't need to install app IMHO

QUOTE(shawnlst @ Mar 3 2014, 12:47 AM) I'm not sure if it was the battery problem as the first time when I checked the time in the morning, the battery was left with 50% and I did not use my phone until afternoon. Then I only realised my screen could not wake up after pressing the power button. All sort of combinations of buttons had been tried but to no avail. I know is best to claim warranty but I bought it from Google Japan Play Store. Have anyone tried to claim warranty from Google Japan? I bought my N5 in Jan'14. try flashing factory image before attempting warranty most likely you have a rogue app that's draining the battery

QUOTE(apendots @ Mar 3 2014, 01:02 AM) sorry to ask, how to bring out the factory images? does it mean i will back to stock? yes, everything will go back to stock but u can directly flash the 4.2.2 image so u don't have to update again the guide at xda is pretty detailed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701

QUOTE(shawnlst @ Mar 3 2014, 01:42 AM) I did install Go Launcher and Go Weather app but that was few weeks back. Previously there was no problem of battery drainage. In fact, my phone was not on data connection yesterday. How do I flash factory image? I tried to connect to my laptop and it showed QHSUSB_BULK. A quick online check, seemed like a hardware failure... first, charge up the phone and check if you can get into recovery with vol down + power follow the instructions on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701you will have to be very unlucky to get hardware failure... back on my i9000 i never had hardware failure despite me abusing it by flashing and installing all kinds of stuff

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Mar 3 2014, 11:34 PM) Slim is aosp so use the normal. Check if there's any app that drain your battery and check for wakelocks. If enabled s2w/d2t, will cause battery drain as well. ok thanks it's set up like what I had on my Stock+elemX0.30, about the same usage pattern too now I'm only getting 2.5-3hrs SOT instead of previous consistent almost 4hrs SOT (+- few mins) stay tuned while I find out what's sucking the juice

QUOTE(bugb34r @ Mar 5 2014, 09:56 PM) Going to flash my first custom rom tonight. Can suggest me a good pair of rom and kernel? Preferred battery saving. Is this ROM good enough? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655722Depends on how you really use this features To me it's a very bloated ROM, but of you're someone who's gonna use all those features, it's good for you EDIT: forgot to answer your first question For battery saving, catalysm/slimkat + franco seem to have good reviews besides custom roms and kernels, you should read some battery saving guide, should have one in the OP Happy experimenting This post has been edited by Tsukiyomi001: Mar 5 2014, 10:32 PM

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Mar 15 2014, 09:22 PM) Only issue I have is wireless. Its like phone is connected to wifi but doesn't receive data or at least its slow. E.g whatsapp msg I will receive 1hr late if I don't launch the app manually. Need to restart wifi or switch to mobile network. Tried finding solution, tried everything. Change wifi channel, off wifi optimization, change 2.4ghz band, turn location off, this & that. In the end I give up lol. Maybe its my router problem, using the unifi crappy router but then using for laptop no problem. Donno la, I also confused I have the issue of not getting push notifications on my uni wifi, I'm thinking it's because they blocked the port Google Could Messaging service uses

i find that when changing to Faux from elementalx I need to flash default boot.img or there will be problems like faux's intelliplug misbehaving
also, as of faux13u the settings won't stick when I tried to OC to 2.8ghz (i'm on elementalx 3.0ghz now)
gonna try purified kernel and see how it goes

QUOTE(djlah @ Mar 29 2014, 06:35 PM) as I understand, it's nature behavior on certain GPU Governor selected. may I know what settings you use for GPU governer? I used Simple, with both bars set to 0, so the GPU ramps up and down quickly

QUOTE(djlah @ Mar 29 2014, 07:51 PM) same here. simple governor but I leave the bars default. right, will try this after few days on purified PS: can't find any replacement for xposed network speed module, apps need $$ or are too in-elegant in their execution QUOTE(tcw90 @ Mar 29 2014, 10:51 PM) Got my Nexus 5 from Direct-D this evening. Going to stay in stock for few days 1st. u can unlock the bootloader and leave everything stock, since unlocking bootloader will wipe everything on the phone
