unfortunately no. it's not design on that way. on the move, either you have good data plan, watching online streaming or more storage internally for maybe few movies only. else, there is expensive solution, wifi mobile hdd (build in battery can last about 7-10 hours).
hmm... i think i found 1. but not sure if it can be use on all type usb storage

Hey guys, i'm planning to get a N5, i've read that some people are facing some cell reception issues, how is everyone's experience so far? Another thing is on battery charging speed, is it fast?
I wonder the notification lights drain battery or not.
Yes it will but only slightly (unless you just leave it on for long hours). For the notification lights to work, it needs power.

So far no problem with mobile networks. A few members do complain about their network signal. Charging time depends on how much you mAh you feeding your phone. If on the charger that came with the phone, mine from ~20% to 100% in roughly ~1hr 30mins - 2hr

that's not something new. many ppl already using USB-OTG quite long time ago, specially those device without sdcard support. I'm also using it frequently with my 32GB thumbdrive. and to answer syahpian, I just tested 1TB drive with USB-OTG, not working.

i see, thanks for help me verifying this. later i will go and try to find external hdd that can be use with nexus 5 otg function
With what rom? 0.32 seems like not working for many roms. Actually 0.26 & 0.31 don't have any major difference according to the OP. Just some minor stuff only. 0.32 they say got some draining issues but not sure la since I haven't try it
With slimkat. So far it's been working fine for me though.
My ex Nexus4 can connect through USB-OTG to my Samsung 1TB harddrive n i see no reason why a more advanced N5 is unable to...it could be the cables problem. I have 3 usb-otg cables n only one can connect successfully... SO try with other cables
Use an SSD, you will get better battery life compare to HDD. Plus its more durable, fall down also wont spoil
ssd mahal yo
