compare with my wife moto G with Cel**m, usually she got full bar compare with mine with just only 2 or 3 bar.

AOSP ROM are less than about 1 bar in visual than other branded stock ROM. so not accurate, you need to compare the signal in numbers.

From your statement, since N5 no official distributor in Malaysia, wait N6. If no official distributor for N6,won't get it then?  sweat.gif
Change the DPI in /system/build.prop .. lcd_density
*
Maybe? It's pretty much okay if there's no N6 if the time comes, since most manufacturers have upped the ante, value and hardware wise, like the Xperia Z2 and Oppo N1. I could still opt for rooting and flashing albeit lesser support as usual. I'm a sucker for killer fast updates. Even if my G.Nex couldn't support Kitkat, there's still a way to support it. I guess that is why we love our Nexus' so much.

QUOTE(hackcremo @ Mar 2 2014, 05:38 PM)
All N5 owner sure got this play in mind before buying this phone. However u will totally forget it when u own the phone. One thing to make sure dont let any hardware damage. Other than that, a lot of developr and user have ur back to help.
*
I'm an avid flasher for my G.nex. Serves me so well. No physical damages so far since I'm not a clumsy person. But the speaker is effed after 1 1/2 years. I've bought from Directd and I sure am not willing to send it to them and get my phone back a month later. It's internal failure that I'm worried of nowadays. sweat.gif

QUOTE(djlah @ Mar 2 2014, 08:12 PM)
it's ok. original warranty support if your first priority, so you limit yourself only for those model officially launch here. but most of us nexus brand is first priority.

and share with us your experience, which brand or service center provide the best class of warranty support?
*
I've brainwashed 7/8 of my friends to use G.Nex and it's newer brother so yeah I'm like you guys. Then again, there might be a day where I'll say, suck it, and buy an AP set. It's just a matter of waiting and inner desire. laugh.gif

LG and Samsung's service center is pretty good. Not sure about Sony though. In most cases, one or two day of waiting and it's done.

So the bottom line is, why's LG so reluctant to sell it here officially? Is it because of their competition with its sibling LG G2?

Why do you put your media(that you want to use/show) in a nomedia folder? .nomedia is usually a file/folder named .nomedia and it mostly tell the media scanner to not scan the files in the folder so it won't show up in player (music) or gallery (pictures/videos)

Just create folder with any name you want and transfer from pc/wifi to that folder.
*
Nonono I didnt put in that folder, i just make nomedia folder so i can transfer without the error where it stop transfering halfway. I deleted the nomedia folder after that but still pic aint showing sweat.gif

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Mar 3 2014, 05:50 PM)

Either rescan media or just reboot phone to rescan media.

To root, flash, all those stuff requires to unlock bootloader. Take note unlocking bootloader will wipe your phone so suggest make backup of your important stuff before proceeding. Also take note not to flash wrong files.

According to some users here, yes. I didnt really care about the scratches. My main reason for selling it is this:

- Button feedback is unresponsive. Sometime I dont even know if I pressed the button or not.
- Transparent back is fingerprint magnet. Smudge, oil etc. Need to keep cleaning it.
- Dislike the back transparent plastic, feels very slippery.
- Find it a bit ugly compare to neo hybrid (personal preference)

I never use before but i read reviews about the buttons, but common sense when comes to glossy back confirm it is a fingerprint magnet. I never come across any case for nexus 5 except slim armor(smooth black), previously i had iphone 5 with slim armor and neo hybrid and i still like the slim armor but i notice nexus 5 smooth black texture different, a lot better and not prone to scratches.

I also have both the ultra hybrid and neo hybrid. I stick more to hybrid because I like the transparent back. Mine not much scratch. Fingerprint not that many still can manage.

I'm not sure if it was the battery problem as the first time when I checked the time in the morning, the battery was left with 50% and I did not use my phone until afternoon. Then I only realised my screen could not wake up after pressing the power button. All sort of combinations of buttons had been tried but to no avail.

I know is best to claim warranty but I bought it from Google Japan Play Store. Have anyone tried to claim warranty from Google Japan? I bought my N5 in Jan'14.

Just called US Google CS. Here is the email received.

QUOTE
Dear Sheng,

Thank you for contacting Google. The phone needs to be in country of purchase, when the phone is in Japan and ready for shipping just e-mail me with 'I CONSENT' to the RMA process. Here is a breakdown of the process.

          1) Upon receiving your e-mail stating 'I CONSENT' I will process the RMA which will send you an e-mail with four things of note. One, a longer in depth version of this summary. Two, a RMA Shipping Label. Three, a RMA Label. Four, a link to order your new device.

          2) The RMA Labels - The RMA Label goes in the box on top of the device and the accessories that came in the original box. The RMA Shipping Label goes on the box and the box is shipped via UPS.

          3) The Replacement Cart Link - This is what you use to order your device. We ship you the device even before we receive your old one. This will put an authorization hold (not a charge) on your account, which will be released when we receive your old device. This is of course because we are sending a device before receiving the old one. If you have questions about holds, your bank would be the best to talk to about it as each bank handles them differently. For the most part this does not impact your ability to make purchases, however we have had reports some banks handle this differently.

Note: If you want your replacement device faster you can pay to expedite shipping, more details in the cart link.

Thank you for contacting us. Feel free to reply to this email and I will respond as soon as I can, you can also contact us at 1-855-83NEXUS (1-855-836-3987).

Have a great day,
Christopher
The Google Support Team

It seemed that the phone needs to be returned first before allowing to order a new replacement... doh.gif haih... need to go through all these hassle... super suay... cry.gif
