“The two lines will merge at our signature station in Putra Heights and the travel time from this station to KLCC will take about an hour,” said Zulkifli.

He added that the RapidKL LRT service would take delivery of the new trains late next year and would conduct trial runs after that.

Very hard to say, as Prasarana has plans for fare revision when the extension opens.

isnt it abit slow?
currently jamek to kelana jaya only 30min+ leh bro

our train speed should increase abit liao...too slow
p/s: what is the current speed for our train for KJ line?
*
KJ line max speed is 80 km/h.

QUOTE(niceboy @ Feb 28 2014, 10:06 AM)
jus saying they need to increase abit the speed of train..so that they are able to cut short the time , not to the extend of bullet train la but increase abit the current speed...
*
Speed is not really a factor, because even if you increase speed, the distance between stations are quite close, that any increase of speed will be negligible in reducing time smile.gif

Do not have the mentality of getting into your destination faster,
it is a commute ability that you should appreciate.
As someone that drive from Jalan Semarak to Puchong almost everyday
i welcome such commodity as i rather wake up early than facing Jalan Tun Razak infamous jam everyday.

cheap on the wallet as well.

The idea behind LRT/MRT is to reduce traffic. Not to be faster than driving car. But during rush hour traffic, I think taking LRT/MRT is preferable to driving.

it is not like this bro..

it is pity the ppl who sit in the train knowing the train move slowly , consume alot of time

and alot if the train moving fast , it can actually clear the traffic of each station effectively.
look at wangsa maju station, if the train keep coming and go every 5min every morning , it will clear the crowd fast..

u have to take consideration of ppl taking the train everyday for work from klcc to puching...if able to cut down the time from 1 hour to 30min..i am sure everyone will be happy rclxms.gif

it is all about effectiveness

i'm assuming driving from puchong to klcc is also taking around 45m - 1hr every morning considering the morning traffic.

As i said before,
it is the ability to commute that should be appreciate.
Of course standing or maybe sitting in a train during rush hour might not the best wonder about commuting but if you actually want to go from Puchong to Damai for example
that's actually 45-1 hour drive but difference is in your own comfortable car with your own space and etc this is pros but if we start include parking(if not provided) and accident chance(which is quite high if you are not careful in Jalan Tun Razak)

Time isn't an issue but perhaps LRT should well air conditioned to provide maximum public transport comfort.
I can't stress enough about the station since it is public transport after all so everyone have fair and share regarding their nearest station.

Not really possible, because almost all of the line, only has double track, there is no space for trains to bypass another slower trains.

Not likely, as Ampang line branches to Putra Heights and then another one to Ampang smile.gif

Two things....

1) That's one FU ugly ass design.
2) Putra Heights is still a dead place. Won't see it coming up good anytime soon.

Gombak ke kerinchi pun dah 40 min so putra height ke klcc 1jam tu kira logik la.

Complain lambat...drive sendiri...baru tau langit tinggi rendah..nak sampai tol sungai besi pun dah dekat sejam. belum masuk kl lagi tu.

You mean the PH train station platform share for both lines?

Oh.. Okay.. the Ampang line and Puchong line..
Perhaps they should separate these two line.. icon_idea.gif

Btw, Subang line able to do 90 seconds?

No, no. I mean 90 seconds is not possible on that line, as the line branches out in two separate branches smile.gif

A) Sentul Timur to Ampang

B) Sentul Timur to Putra Heights

If Puchong section is 90 seconds, then Sentul Timur - Chan Sow line section could have been 45 seconds which is not possible smile.gif

Kelana Jaya/USJ that one can do 90 seconds.

Cut the time means a more direct route which means KTM Komuter. Get them to buck up then. They are supposed to be the faster 'express' route based on the type of service they are categorised in. But their implementation is a disastrous fail.

Puchong to Masjid Jamek in 40 minutes plus isn't too bad, considering that it goes through Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, Cheras and Pudu before hitting Masjid Jamek on the Puchong line.

Kampung, what do you think the time would be to travel the ampang line from bandar kinrara giant station to klcc?

For bk station will there be parking area that accesible from bk5 area?

And last question, is masjid jamek interchange station going to be upgraded or improved?

its doesnt mean faster train to bypass slower train.

wat it means, is for certain trains to bypass certain stations.
for some stations which is known to have lesser passengers waiting, the trains will not stop there and will continue on to the next station.
*
How do you think that's possible when there is a slower train that is stopping at very station in front of you?

I think you're gonna be looking at 6-7 one way. Def more than 5.

Still better than driving and circling the parking lot.

Prasarana should release the ticket pricing earlier. Unless they have already?

*
From tomorrow LRT Ampang Line will be serving Putra Heights to Sentul for every train. To go to Ampang have to disembark at Chan Sow Lin as the train serving Ampang station stop at Chan Sow Lin.

For Kelana Jaya Line, they implement alternating train during peak hour that the last stop is either at Putra Height or Ara Damansara.
