Can try PJS9 landed house. It is a gated community. I used to stay there and rental for single room is about RM600 including utilities and Internet. It's about 20 minutes walking distance to Monash.
*
I'm trying to find that area but can't find any listing on property websites laugh.gif most of the PJS 9 is the older houses which I don't really want.

RM 600 is cheap considering a'marine and nadayu is around the 1k range.

Hey there ! Since you had mentioned about orientation bash, do you know if I can still join it although I am doing my year 2 this year ? Was so regret for not joining last year :/
*
there is a reason why it is called orientation right tongue.gif anyway I was one of the last few ones to register, as far as I know there are no more slots loft.

You are doing second year pharmacy? the batch with only 3 guys and a hundred girls? laugh.gif

Yea, well said. But it's never too late to know more people right ? tongue.gif Have been locked in pharmacy for months :/ can barely know people so I decided to be more outgoing this year haha. yea, the boys to girls ratio is approximately 1:6. Guys' paradise but sadly not for girls.

can we pls be friends now? blush.gif

well my monash buddies kept on insisting us to join orientation bash if not I would have probably skipped it hahha. I also planned to skip the musa day until the very last minute they offered us slots to hop in.

I'm sure they are events organized by musa that will widen your circle of friends. sad.gif did you signed up to be a buddy?

Haha sure we can be friend ! smile.gif I'm not joining the buddy because I'm from outstation. But I have always wanted to make more friends as I don't want my uni life to be so boring. Maybe this sem I will join some club& societies to widen my friend's circle. Any recommendations ?
*
awww. sad.gif I'm not sure which clubs to join because I'm still a freshie, but funny how Monash don't have a rotaract or leo club.

From what I know, monash has Leo club. But I heard that members must present every Saturday. You can only absent for maximum 3 times or else you will be kicked out. And for the every absence you have to give reason.
*
that is bloody strict! I love joining this kind of social clubs but their rules are such a turn off, sounds like another MPU crap.

HEY GUYS
what is the difference between bach of commerce and bach of business and commerce?
will both of them exempt the same amount of papers from ACCA if i choose to major in accounting & economics?
i had checked from the ACCA website. it states that one must take specific modules in order to exempt 9 papers but then when i check the modules available i couldn't find such modules
anyone gone through the course pls enlighten me. THANKS.
*
bcom(accounting)
- only one major
- extremely tough
- exactly the same course as offered in caulfied campus(easier credit transfer)
- small intake
- students are offered jobs before they graduate

bcom and commerce
- up to 6 majors to choose from
- much easier compared to bcom
- only offered in south african or sunway
- majority of business students are doing this course

Hello everyone, im new here. I just completed my A-levels and decided on Bachelor of Business and Commerce.
I am thinking of Monash or UOW. I would be most grateful if someone can share their experiences in Monash?
such as the campus environment and life in Monash.

Thank you very much, for the information that you can share.

On a side note, i heard monash exam papers are tough. The passing percentage overall is below 60%, is there any basis in this hear-say?
*
Life in monash is hectic tongue.gif cause you have only 12 weeks of studying, 1 week of study break and exams starts after that. Time passes extremely fast.

Depends on the unit itself. You have hurdle(min scores) to achieve for your assignments as well as final paper, if you pass hurdle for assignments but flunk your paper, see you in the next semester. There is a summer school for that hahah.
Some lecturer are just a fucking needle in the ass, during classes they tell you he expects 20% of the students to retake the unit next sem. Guess what? The final paper produced by him is some fucking rocket science paper, so always be prepared for the worst hahah.

Guys I'm gonna finish up my SAM and I was going to apply to Monash University Malaysia to do my BA, until is saw these horrible, horrific employee reviews. shocking.gif

http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Monash-Un...tatus=PART_TIME

All of the employees mention a "toxic culture", "bad pay masters", "worse academic institution is South East Asia/ Malaysia", "Australian University as a Malaysian Business, run for your life". "Dwindling enrollment rate", "% of the staff got fired, % going to quit, etc"

Can I hear from the students? I just can't imagine studying there would be a pleasant experience. If your lecturers feel they are treated bad or working for a terrible employer or are generally unhappy, how will they find the motivation to impart their knowledge to their students?
*
I am pretty close to some of my tutors (younger ones of course), and yup it is somewhat like that hahhaa
management is very very strict and the toxic culture is somewhat true I guess.

as some monashians would know that there are PASS(peer assisted study session) class that is taught by previous high achieving seniors, guess how much they are paid per class? RMxx jusco vouchers.
