Guys just wondering how come it takes them 3-7 working days to assess my application. I got BCC for my a levels and that's the minimum requirement for the chemical engineering programme. I should be able to enter monash right? I'm a little scared now

In the past, students meeting the minimum requirements gained admission. Don't think it has changed. Be patient. Or, give them a ring. All the best!

hi there .. any bcom in accounting alumni here ? upon graduating successfully from the studies ..

1. is the ranking of classes for Bcom ? ( 1st class , 2nd class etc )
2. everyone got 9 acca papers exempted ?
*
1) BCom (Accounting) is not an honours degree, so there isn't a class ranking. Note the difference between the Australian and British university usage of the honours degree. You will need an additional 4th year to qualify for honours.

2) Not sure myself. Best to check with those currently in audit.

Hey guys.. have some question here  rclxub.gif

Just checked the grade policy stating that to get a first class degree means getting 4.0 CGPA. Does this mean that I have to constantly get HDs and cannot miss a single one? That would be tough huh  shocking.gif  shocking.gif

Btw, I'm taking Business and commerce (1st year)  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

Don't be confused, the basic Business and Commerce degree does not award honours. You will require an additional fourth year upon completion of your degree. Refer to Australian degree grading systems.

Only way for a CGPA of 4.0 in Monash is straight HDs. Don't think even the top student in my cohort achieved that. Focus on getting a good WAM smile.gif

Just want to clear the air here:

but different campus are providing different courses
so the employer will find that i am graduated from Malaysia which has lower entry requirement, isn't it?
*
Your transcript will not state the campus of graduation. It will, however, state your subject codes and name of course, which the HR dept can use to infer the campus that you attended.

Does a lower entry requirement equate to lower quality graduates? Think.

Are you saying that the quality of teaching and delivery results are different between Monash Malaysia and Monash Australia ?
*
QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Oct 30 2014, 02:31 PM)
That means Monash Australia still a better choice if one yearns for better education quality ? Thanks.

BravoZeroTwo, from the phrasing of your questions, it is obvious that you are trying to reinforce your personal views between local and foreign campuses.

Yes it would differ, to an extent. But then again, even Monash campuses within Australia would differ (eg. Clayton vs Caulfield vs Berwick). Whether the delivery of the course if better depends on your learning style - Aus appears to promote more discussion (simply because local students tend to shy away from participation).

Personally, I feel that the quality/ insights of the lecturers make minimal impact at an undergraduate level, especially for a generic degree in commerce. But then again, your perception becomes your reality.

Agree as I have friend in Berwick for an obvious reason. Thanks for the clarification here. On the other hand, does it matter much if one graduates from other local unis be it private or public for a generic course such as this at bachelor level ?
*
Yes and no. Good students are likely to excel regardless of the environment. In a lesser university, it could be more of a challenge. The reputation of the university alone helps to land interviews due to HR bias, even if the candidates are of the same quality.

Any business school seniors here can give advice bout whether these 3 subjects would be considerably easy to get HD, in your opinion  ?

Units: Commercial banking, Trade finance and foreign exchange & International financial management  notworthy.gif

If you have any other recommendation for relatively easy 2nd/3rd year units, please do so as I need 3 either 2nd/3rd yr electives, I prefer to have less assignment/assessment that would take up a lot of time(e.g presumably marketing units) and more towards calculation based(e.g financial management). Thanks in advance  icon_question.gif

Of the three units listed, probably trade finance and foreign exchange. You will find the unit similar to some of the finance units.

If you prefer calculation based subjects, take some basic econometrics units like business data modelling. wink.gif

Planning on doing accounting and finance, however the degree offered my monash is bachelors of commerce and its not a honors degree.

Are all australian degrees without honors and is it a problem in the real world, jobs etc...

Thanks,
*
Just a different naming convention compared to the UK degrees. Won't be a problem in the job market.

Hello guys,

What is the difference between the Bachelors of Commerce and Bachelors of Business and Commerce at Monash.

Why is the entry requirement 12 compared to 7 ( Which is significantly different)

And i understand that Bachelors of Commerce will be last for this years july intake.

Can someone give me a clear understanding of the difference and which is better. Both gives the exemptions of 9 paper for ACCA.

Thank you for your time.

I once explained this, attaching it here, hoping it would help a little. My opinions remain the same - try to quantify the benefits in some way, then you'd have your answer. Feel free to ask if you have any further questions, I will try my best to get to it when I have some time.
