i always recommend ppl to go monash as it is a prestigious school.. however we have to face reality, whether you're able to make that tuition fees back.. in the long term it is definitely worth it.. you will be part of an elite group of ppl in msia but if you have to take a loan or it is a huge burden for your parents then better not

4 of my family members including me grad from monash msia.. i am in sg, my sis is in sydney and 2 cousins are doing extremely well as their own bosses.. non from food sc though.. my dad did food tech like 30 years ago? that time not many highly qualified ppl so he did well in mnc... these days i dont know

for engineering or business or med or pharma it is not a prob... those fields pays well in msia... food sc? i dont think so... what's your results anyway? i might be able to recommend another option..

Bro,
May I know what do you work as in Singapore ? Thanks.

for transfer from monash sunway? http://www.buseco.monash.edu.au/esg/agu/po...-transfers.html
clayton require 70% average,caulfield 65% average

clayton is further away from city(1hr) vs caulfield (30min)
however a lot of people studying in caulfield stay in clayton as the rental is cheaper
*
Ryan,
Meaning we can transfer to Clayton from MM if we meet the 70% average weighted point ? Thanks.

Anyone going to Clayton campus next year and looking for a place to stay, contact me please. I am graduating and I need someone to take over my room. It is walking distance to campus and a bus stop to go to a shopping mall. $195/week or $780/month, all bills included. We have wifi, central aircon + heater, 3 bathrooms, 4 toilets, cooking area, TV, garage, washing machine, vacuum cleaner. The tenants are a mix of local and internationals from Monash and are really friendly. Gaming sessions (PC, cards, board, etc.) and road trips happen regularly. Contact me for photos and any questions. Cheers! smile.gif

Hi there ! How long have you been studying in Clayton ? How you find the place there ? Thanks.

but different campus are providing different courses
so the employer will find that i am graduated from Malaysia which has lower entry requirement, isn't it?
*
With lower entry requirement, does it mean also lower quality of results produced ? On the other side of the fence, if you look at their Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), it has a higher entry requirement. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

Are you saying that the quality of teaching and delivery results are different between Monash Malaysia and Monash Australia ?

That's for sure, because different faculty staffs would have different delivery method. On top of that, you'll also be exposed to different group of cohorts and these factors will greatly influence your learning experience.
*
That means Monash Australia still a better choice if one yearns for better education quality ? Thanks.

Just want to clear the air here:
Your transcript will not state the campus of graduation. It will, however, state your subject codes and name of course, which the HR dept can use to infer the campus that you attended.

Does a lower entry requirement equate to lower quality graduates? Think.
BravoZeroTwo, from the phrasing of your questions, it is obvious that you are trying to reinforce your personal views between local and foreign campuses.

Yes it would differ, to an extent. But then again, even Monash campuses within Australia would differ (eg. Clayton vs Caulfield vs Berwick). Whether the delivery of the course if better depends on your learning style - Aus appears to promote more discussion (simply because local students tend to shy away from participation).

Personally, I feel that the quality/ insights of the lecturers make minimal impact at an undergraduate level, especially for a generic degree in commerce. But then again, your perception becomes your reality.
*
Agree as I have friend in Berwick for an obvious reason. Thanks for the clarification here. On the other hand, does it matter much if one graduates from other local unis be it private or public for a generic course such as this at bachelor level ?

Dr Melanie Ooi Po-Leen, who is with Monash University Malaysia’s School of Engineering, was presented with the Outstanding Young Engineer Award.

She received the award at the 2015 IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) International Instrumentation and Measurement (I & M) Technology Conference in Pisa, Italy.

The highly-coveted international Outstanding Young Engineer Award is granted to only one recipient annually.

This award recognises excellent young I&M members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding early career professional achievements.

This is the first time a Southeast Asian candidate has received the award.

The award was given to Dr Ooi in recognition of her leadership and innovation in industry-focused engineering education, as well as research in electronic test technology.

With more than 426,000 members in more than 160 countries, the IEEE is one of the world’s largest professional associations, dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

Dr Ooi obtained her bachelor’s and master’s in engineering and doctorate from Monash University.

Her research focus is in electronics, computer engineering and instrumentation.

Dr Ooi’s particular strength lies in her work done in close collaboration with leading multinationals.

The extensive industry engagement has led to high-impact research results and excellent work readiness of her graduates.

Despite being an early career researcher, she has led and contributed to numerous national research projects.

Dr Ooi is also a strong proponent of the growing role of women in engineering.

Her excellent results in education and research have also been acknowledged by a number of universities, professional organisations and national awards.
