With lower entry requirement, does it mean also lower quality of results produced ? On the other side of the fence, if you look at their Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), it has a higher entry requirement. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

in malaysia there won't be a difference la.. with the Monash name and a half-decent resume you are probably likely able to land an interview.. after that its your own doing liao

That's for sure, because different faculty staffs would have different delivery method. On top of that, you'll also be exposed to different group of cohorts and these factors will greatly influence your learning experience.

i dont like to be an accountant in future, can I still take the bachelor of commerce(accouting)? as this course provide something like finance also
2.i found that it will take 2 years for master after graduating from monash, but those UK university just 1 year. Is this a disadvantage of monash university?

Well, don't get me wrong. I didn't mention which is a better choice and I believe Monash endeavors to maintain its quality to be equally as good among all campuses, it's up to you to decide after you've considered all the mentioned factors.

Is it true that getting a degree in Monash is better than say Sunway or Taylors since it's Australian and all?

Because I've been accepted to Monash in Bachelors of Arts(Psychology) but I am also thinking of doing computer science in Sunway.

I did not get accepted to Monash for computer science though, because I didn't get pass their requirements for that course.

Any thoughts guys?

Well my math is a bit on the bad side, and I can code alright, but psychology itself also interests me the same way. Plus I don't mind either, I can always learn by my own at my own time later in life, it's just now I'm trying to make a decision.

Hey guys, do you know of a regularly-visited education forum here on the... world wide web, specifically for Monash? Moodle is great and all, but it'd be nice to have a medium for asking and answering subject-related questions anonymously tongue.gif

On the side, here are some TITAS notes my classmates and I used for the exam for Semester 2 (which, after going through the very basic 50-marks-worth Bahagian B, proved to be the only thing we needed)

for engineering, their 1 year master is an undergrad degree not postgrad.. and group of 8 unis used to have 1 year masters but to ensure quality min is 1.5 years or 2 years now... in line with their migration program too

yes, better in all ways except $$$

comp sc in monash is very tough, at least during my generation...

if you're not academically gifted but still wanna go the academic path, better to head to a lesser school n pursue what you like best

Yes, like lowyat. Or this:
https://www.xtremepapers.com/community/

Problem with lowyat is that it's an extremely wide net. Since Monash syllabus is really specific, it'd be great if there was a place to discuss each subject.

From your reaction, I'm guessing there's none.. but thank you anyway ^^

I find myself doing better with exams after reading previous students' problems and solutions. One of the subjects (ATS1278, btw, anybody here did that?) doesn't have a moodle page and our lecturer's not very convincing when he says "complete your essential readings and Unit Guide questions, there will be no surprises". The latest past year paper available is from 2008 and hanging out with similar people who are just starting out, no one can tell you what to expect. I'll have to work on expanding that small circle, but for now, internet's always been the best resource.

Moving from science subjects to Communications, maybe I'm approaching the subject the wrong way, but oh well. Guess I'll have to wing it next week tongue.gif
