citibank credit card can't waive annual fee? is that other bank also the same? or just citibank under financial crisis? i realise they cut off quite many privileges with the merchants already, and now the annual fee can't be waive anymore
if they are the only bank can't be waived, i think i better stop using their service before they charge the annual fee and force to pay another year for them..

i doubt the people here that said citibank have waive their card without much problem is their own people.. u can go to their facebook page the "citibank malaysia" it is plenty of complaintsss about the annual fee waiver issue. u guys should check out before they start charging and cancel your card before it.
when i key in and google citibank annual fee waive, all come out US citibank, seems like other country's citibank have no "policy" issue in that, only Malaysia Citibank with lousy management and marketing department.

QUOTE(broken8902 @ May 27 2015, 04:47 PM) I've no issue clearing the balance. Usually we as the credit card holders will use cancellation as a leverage to seek for the waiver, hence I asked to be transferred to the cancellation department as they would have the authority for such waiver. I just want to get the waiver done ASAP. Holding me off by asking me to clear the balance first before they can actually transfer me to someone with the authority to waive my annual membership fees is a hassle, I would need to wait for another working day for them to record the payment. I've called in yesterday around 5.50pm, that customer service officer understand my situation and directly patch me through but unfortunately they don't work 24 hours. Hence, they arranged for a callback within two working days. I wouldn't want to wait and called in again today and encounter the "no waiver" customer service officer. Anyways, I trust in Citibank and I've called in again just now. The customer service officer said he need to transfer me to another colleague for the waiver. I was patched through and the officer did the waiver for me, no hassle. Sometimes you just need to call in again to get someone helpful. Such a simple fee waiver, it just a simple yes and no answer, but u need to call in for so many times and get diff answer from diff officer.. don't u think this is really poor and lousy service? How can Malaysia always tolerate with this kind of cheapskate customer service? some more international bank..

can't denied they were good, but now is really.. Sucks! and poor service. HSBC is 12 swipe annual fee waiver (12 swipe only.. 1 month i have already exceeded~), many other banks also giving free waiver for life time and better merchant privileges, too bad, Citibank credit card can't compete with other bank anymore..
the funny thing is, they have their citibank booth just beside the cathay cineplex, but they have already cut off the privilege with cathay long ago, now the only Merchant with Cathay is AMbank.. don't understand what is their current management and marketing department doing.. maybe in crisis or something.. whatever~
Anyway i'm not the hardcore loyalty customer.. already decided to terminated all the service with them, no hassle anymore, i keep the bank which can provide better privilege and service only.
btw, all bank is sucking blood, why let the one who suck your blood and giving you lousy service.. hehe! bye bye citibank!
