Just now want to apply Citibank  amex through the online. The person in charge call me said no cash back rm50+250 for the Amex card, just for visa and MasterCard card only. But he said have free 10,000 miles for new application.... Is it the true information that Amex new application not entitle for cash back? Very keen for cash back rather than miles...

Update... After more than 1 week no one from Citibank linked to RinggitPlus called me to follow up with my application, so I emailed them and asked them to forget it.

Many have reported that they also can't get theirs waive this year. But it was possible in the last few years.

i got mine waived on first attempt for all 3 cards.
you do not need to wait for the anniversary for each card to get a waiver.
just call to waive all your cards, then they will place an instruction for all your cards
then once the annual fee gets charged at different times for different cards, there will be an instant waiver triggered to minus off the same amount.

works perfectly.

Finally Mr Kang from Citibank that tied up with RinggitPlus called me and told me that I am not eligible for the tablet because already holding Citibank card.
They only want to reward brand new Citibank card member. Sob.

i guess you did not read the fine print eh
if you're an old time customer, here's a hint
do not go for advertised promos - they are mostly for new customers
call them and ask them for cash discounts
