Yeah, Sometimes THEY(Foreign Banks) do Give High CL  to NEW Customer... brows.gif
I think Most KEDEKUT on CL- Maybank sweat.gif
*
that's not true
certain banks give high credit limit and some don't
for example my maybank credit limit is higher than citibank

on the other hand, maybank is not careful of credit assesment
they give out credit to undeserving people
which is why maybank has a lot of non performing loans

What if I wish to sub another prestige card for my wife, will there be another rm1000 annual fee for the sub?
*
supplementary cards are free
but you still need to request for GST waiver
rm25, can easily be waived.

bear in mind, many of the privileges are only valid for principle card holder
the supplementary card is more for syiok sendiri

For discussion sake... having 200k asset and earning 200k pa (200k pa for prestige right?) is a different story. though... of course those in citigold cannot be just 200k asset. i've heard stories from priority bank RM. some people take the same 200k and rotate among banks just to get the privileges. HAHA
*
i think people like get confused easily if you don't check carefully and read all the posts and simply comment

avineshhh in the forum above maybe cannot get cards and he asked if he can do FD pledging in order to get a card.
fly126 answered cannot. except that if you are a citigold customer (minimum 200k deposit to be citigold) you can directly get a platinum card without income requirements
Berkshire Breakaway commented that EVEN with citigold you only get a complementary platinum card and NOT a prestige card. which is quite sad. so them banks really want your income documents.

I do not know why suddenly you're blabbering about 200k pa requirement for prestige when we are talking about FD pledging and complementary cards without income requirements.

For the 2nd part i don't know what cock bully story your RM friends say, but your 200k has to maintained in order enjoy the privileges. If not you have to pay heavy admin charges every month and you would be advises to close your account. it does make sense to change private banking all the time. one thing - the privileges are not that great for it to be worthwhile doing so.

no need over react...

you said... most citigold customers can so easily qualify for prestige...

i just want to divert (i did say for discussion sake) and say... being a citigold and qualifying for prestige is very different. i saw what fly said... citigold can get plat card. i know, i read it on the website too (last last time), out of curiousity. i know he asked about the FD pledging.

my bad in not explaining better. i heard the RM said, got people really rotate the money, to get those new joining privileges and free gifts. true story and that one not my friend, work-related. yes, before you jump, i know the different between 'new' privileges and on-going permanent, sometimes type too fast, terlupa. busy tengok news...

so i comment on your post, not on everybody's post before... why people get so jumpy
*
if you know, then what is the value of your post anyway? "just" want to mention?
discussion about how to apply and qualify for cards and how to get a better card brings value to your this thread.
your thread has only speculation, if you have nothing useful to say please goto to Kopitiam. thanks

fly126 actually i also pusing kepala just now. now okay edi. rclxm9.gif
what i lagi dun understand is, private banking privileges are not as nice as some VIP credit card privileges. buat apa nak tukar tukar bank just to enjoy privileges+hamper+leather bag and cash out? rclxub.gif

btw in case you're interested to know:
last week i went to the citigold lounge (i went as a corp client for my company/i am not so rich okay)
the lounge at menara citibank, got a lot of goodies there. those RM chicks will pester you for this and that such as AUD dual currency account. okay lah i am not gonna deny some are quite pretty and you can flirt with them. ok free parking at citibank is useful. but to pay the management fees when your monthly balance falls below 200K? totally not worth it. doh.gif

Statement come charging for gov tax rm50
Called to customer service and they refused to waive for me
Damn it...
Should I just terminate it?
*
this has been discussed a gazillion times
why do you think they refused?
please bear in mind that it is not a real waiver but offset (citibank still needs to pay Rm 50 to BNM)
they are normally willing to lose the RM 50 only for selected customers. i got mine waived.
if you terminate, are you sure the future bank that you're going to get a card from would offset your GST?
think about it.

Anyone here is an agent for citibank credit card? Or can i hv some contacts of genuine agents? Tq
*
i advise you to apply online just like fly126 suggested (nice links she has)
you can also refer to page 1 of this thread for more information on applying online.
not sure what you mean by genuine agents.
are there fake agents? what do fake agents do? take your details and run away? never heard of them.

there are 2 types of agents.
1) actual full time/part time bank employees who have quota etc that can do submission for you
2) a freelance agents who themselves or their agency being authorized by the bank to do the submission
both get either commissions or some kind of incentive.

Currently I'm holding PremierMiles and Clear card, and today I called Citibank to request for annual fee waiver. However, they refused to do so, saying that currently bank has no such promotion. Instead, ask me to take up their product (RM5k and above) or convert to choice card! Seriously??  mad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif

This really sucks because I saw there are members managed to waive it! Thinking to cancel it now~
