haha, always view this thread here, but now is one of the member already. Applies for Clear card.

Purpose to holding this card is because of movie ticket buy 1 free 1.

The credit limit offer by bank is quite a lot  shocking.gif

Hi all,

Received a sms from Citi: Complimentary 3D2N stay @ Anantara resort in Koh Samui/Phuket. Call to 03-xxxxxxxx.

Called to them & they call me back using Singapore line blink.gif
They claimed to be genuine company tie-up-promo with Citi.
Offered 3D2N complimentary excluding tax (around SGD$190)

1) How true is this stuff?
2) If it's true, what's the 'catch' ?

that's not true
certain banks give high credit limit and some don't
for example my maybank credit limit is higher than citibank

on the other hand, maybank is not careful of credit assesment
they give out credit to undeserving people
which is why maybank has a lot of non performing loans

If her CL was 6k to begin with, she must be holding a normal card (gold/plat). most foreign banks like citi only wants to have premium customers that apply for visa world, infinite where their spending power is higher.

my advice is, stick with OCBC.

Have been with Citibank for almost 9 years, just realized that they're charging annual fees for me again after waiving it since the beginning. I guess I'll have to call them...

3 years with citibank. 3 years annual fees waived and 2 years gotten back the gst.

First year they gave me cash back for the gst. So I havent paid any gst to date. rclxms.gif flex.gif

I'm sure there's some formula involved based on your annual income + previous spending + credit history + .... I'm also quite sure there's a rough estimate of how large your total credit limit should be across all banks.

I have personally never asked for a single credit limit increase from Maybank or Citibank, but they've continuously increased it over the years to some scary figure...

2 of the basic cards. GST rebate for both cards. its a long story. I called customer service to request they rebate the gst. But they ended up promoting some order product to me in order to get the gst rebate. I made a big hu ha on their fb page. And they called me up the next day and I have been enjoying gst rebates since. But I do have to call up and request each year. I think usage is another factor they do take into consideration.

Just out of curiousity....how much was your usage (estimate) since they didnt waive your GST that forced you to complain on their fb page?

I didnt complain because they didnt waive my gst. I complained when they started to promote their personal loan to me in order to get the gst waived.
