There's an old thread somewhere here on LYN, about the existence of a secret admin account on TM supplied routers, that let them do remote admin, including updating the firmware. But I very much doubt TM will be so stupid as to do a mass update of the firmware for no good reason. "If it aint broke ...". If anyone tried to do remote firmware update of millions of routers, they my CAUSE thousands of problems that did not previously exist ... not to mention the labour-hours it will take just to do the update, not counting the ensuing troubleshooting/fix.
Did you call TM complaining about some problems around that time? THAT may cause them to remote in and look at your router. |

Can anyone confirm if the login for the Management account is still the same as in 7.15? I can't seem to login the Management ID (not Admin) after the firmware auto update.

For all default router provide by ISP, they can do firmware update without logging into your router.

I have this stock router DIR-615 firmware v7.05b gotten from friendGo read up on TR 069 standard and when I hook it up to the modem with my id/pass and all, it was able to do the automatic firmware update to v7.17 i guess it was because TR-069 was enabled before. now when TR-069 disabled, the firmware stay still. i'm not getting update to latest version 7.19 as stated by TS thank you for pointing this. |
