QUOTE(Hornet @ Oct 18 2014, 12:26 PM) Finally got my 970 G1 Gaming. Nice card, manage to get 1500MHz without extra voltage. Don't really want to push further though as I'm already CPU limited in some games due to my old i7 930 CPU not good combo. upgrade your CPU soon. my Core i5 760 on stock bottlenecks even the AMD R9 280X on Full HD. I had to OC it to some 3.2ghz onwards just to barely close the gap (a frame or 2).

QUOTE(marfccy @ Oct 21 2014, 03:02 PM) would this be the same for i7 920? yeah, the clock speed matters. the new generation like Sandy / Ivy / Haswell series are a lot faster, when it comes to base and TB speed.

it's sagging. you can see how the front bends downwards, it's inevitable as the power cables apply some force when arranged to come from the bottom.

QUOTE(reconvision @ Oct 21 2014, 06:31 PM) After i plug in my power cable, my gpu sag even more makes me worry that i ammediately take out. From internet some said it might be mobo alignment but it look align to me. cards with back-plate tend to fare better.

One of the reasons y i went with silverstone. yes, I have an RV05 - super annoying to setup but the concept is superb.

QUOTE(raydenex @ Oct 21 2014, 09:21 PM) Well, depends on how you attach the pcie 6/8 pin connectors, if you route it from the PSU to the back of the motherboard tray, and make it come out to the front again from the top of the GPU rather than the bottom, using some cable ties behind the m/b tray you can creatively use those power connectors to hold/pull the gpu up from sagging. yes, this is how I setup mine too. Let it come from above or the front area (though blocking air flow a little) but not from the bottom if possible.

Oh you're gonna love it.
I'm using the GTX 970, you'll not only see speed boost compared to the GTX 770 but you'll have a much cooler (as in temperature) gaming computer.

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Nov 9 2014, 09:37 PM) What's the best value GTX 970 in the market right now? I'm upgrading from a Gigabyte GTX 770, mainly playing BF4 (which struggles at 4K resolution). Best Value = Gainward Ref model, RM 1099. Highest priced being ASUS Strix for RM 1,499 for that awesome cooler but the price gap is too huge. We were having this discussion in HW Q&A https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3365888 - might want to read up that thread.
