Just sold one of my R9 290s to buy a GTX 970...since there is no reference GTX 970 (sad, I wanna do SLI), which one is the best? MSI or Gigabyte since I am aiming for either one. I prefer the Gigabyte for looks, but not sure about the cooling against MSI Gaming

from reviews, both are damn good coolers. only thing i noticed is

Windforce
- long ass card
- no 0db feature (if it matters to you)
- has Blue bling2 smile.gif

Twin Frozr
- respectable length
- 0db feature
- black and red theme
- no bling2

dunno is it longer than the Tri-X leh, this Tri-X is the LONGEST GPU I've ever owned...Anyway so the TwinFrozr is RM100 more compared to Gigabyte, hmm...

290 to 970? How much performance gain there? Erm.. Max 10% u get? Worth it meh hmm.gif

Too bloody hot and too bloody loud is the main problem, it runs at 86c in an air cond room on stock and very loud from the top GPU which is bad for my H100i radiator as due to the hot air sucked in by the radiator fans it needs to spin faster=more noise for the fans and CFX drivers are a bit terrible especially in BF4 where I kept crashing for no reason, single GPU is perfect but dual GPU is still not really good for AMD...+ I need shadowplay, I dun wanna spend another RM100 to buy Dxtory. Seriously if wanna to CFX for AMD cards you need to go watercooling to be cool and quiet.

see his siggy mah, RM1.1k for one card, est price of sale is around RM900-1k after nego

give or take, he spends extra RM500 for each 970? hmm.gif

A reference 290 or tri-x 290? If it's reference then lollll okay. If tri-x run that hot then your ventilation got problem? Okay sorry for bother too much about people's business.. HAha happy gaming guys
*
Its 2 Tri-X, I doubt ventilation is a problem except maybe I got only 1 slot of space between them. I already have my radiator and rear fans set as exhaust. May try to replace my 200mm Megaflow front fan as its too thick causing me to move the HDD bay near the GPU, causing me unable to put my 2nd GPU on the 3rd PCIE. Maybe because Tri-X airflow is too bloody good leh? Single GPU only runs at 71c without 2nd GPU blocking

sigh, not sure early adopters of the card is eligible or not... T_T

Really make me wanna punch them in the face. When I buy instead I get some PSO2 online code that I don't even play...Why always we SEA kena de... mad.gif Guess when I get my 2nd 970 for SLI they better gimme that code, I want The Crew lol
Anyway I'm still OCing my GPU, but I think my max core clock is 1584 Boost (Afterburner OSD) without any downclocking (1509 in GPU-z) and 7.5GHz on the memory reaching temps of around 65-70c randomly...Heaven Benchmark max temp is 65-66c but the GPU can randomly goes above 70c for no reason...

My Gigabyte 970 G1 Gaming is so quiet that I just realized I need to replace my CM Megaflow and the 120mm Jetflow...Noctua perhaps?
